In the early days, I certainly was never aware that Meghan was of mixed race, as if it mattered, and I certainly never read anything in the media that was racist towards her, but then I don't belong to Twitter. At first I was, like many others so pleased that Harry had found such a beautiful seemingly lovely lady to marry him. I find it very hard to believe that her in laws committed domestic violence towards her, surely not the Queen? Sadly they could have done so much good in this scary world we now live in, and been immensely popular, disappointment does begin to describe it particularly for all the suffering people of the world that they could have made a difference to. Once they've exhausted their tales of the evil royal family, how will they earn a living? Harry being rather dim has no scholastic or any other skills so he clearly couldn't get a job doing anything!!, Meghan has limited ability to earn a millionaires standard of living so financially.??!! I don't have Netflix and have no desire to see or hear anything from these two. Not to visit your elderly, frail, dying grandmother when she specifically requested you to, is for me the crossed red line. How could anyone be so hurtful, so cruel is beyond me. Seeing the sadness on the Kings face is upsetting too.

Katy. The worst of the racial abuse was on Social Media - MSM hinted but didn't go full scale like SM which was pretty dreadful and couldn't be written here.

If the worse of the racial abuse was on social media then what's the issue? Social media is the wild west, anything goes and you cannot control it. I imagine everyone famous has had abuse on social media. So if the MSM only 'hinted' then why is it such a big deal? As Kate says, the majority of people initially thought she was lovely and welcomed her.

Their actions have backfired a bit in the same way as other recent events.
Evidently they have received an award, but that has been overshadowed by the impact, liked or disliked, of their behaviour towards his grandmother and his father.

It is extremely difficult to avoid H & M as photographs and comments about /from their Netflix series are on every paper on the news stands, plastered all over the BBC website and on the TV news channels. This from a couple who resent press intrusion. You don't make a six- part series if you don't want the attention of the press.
Maybe the reason why the couple are telling their side of the story is the constant press intrusion and negative comments about them; -they have the opportunity to share their experiences.
They have told 'their' story repeatedly, through interviews, books and via court cases.
And quite seriously, did Meghan never experience racism whilst growing up and living in America?

Do agree that M largely brought the race issue upon herself by harping on it all the time. Few people otherwise would have noticed or cared.

I nearly wore our mute button out this morning Mollygo. We have Netflix, don't want to watch it and don't want the them going on about it and showing clips on BBC breakfast.

I agree Coco about having an off switch. What I dislike most is turning on the news and being greeted by even more ‘news’ about the ex-royals and their stuff. Thank heavens for the mute switch.

I have just watched the first episode, nothing dreadful so far.

People seem to forget they have an off switch and do not have to read, watch or comment on anyone they seem to hate and loathe so much. Maybe the reason why the couple are telling their side of the story is the constant press intrusion and negative comments about them - they have the opportunity to share their experiences. If they went into seclusion would the press stop hounding them? No. So if they want to put their own spin on things good for them. I'm not interested and won't read the book or watch the series. I wouldn't watch or read anything about the queen, William and Kate or Charles either. They are all two cheeks of the same backside in my opinion.

Just googled Lizzie Cundy introducing H&M, as I know I saw an interview with LC on TV telling this story - anyway, apparently M ghosted Lizzie C. once she was set up with Harry.

I'm not watching despite having Netflix but have just seen the clip of her giggling and doing the exaggerated curtsey.In that instant I thought enough now.Harry always professed great love and respect for his grandmother. Seems now she's the butt of jokes about themed medieval restaurants.

No Netflix now so I will miss it. I can't help wondering if H and M would be much happier without their resentment towards the RF. They made their stance by leaving and making their home in the US. I just feel that picking at a sore doesn't make it better and surely they can make money in other ways.

I’ve just been sent a clip of her demonstrating how she obsequiously bent double, arms outstretched when meeting the late Queen. She was taking the p* and Harry looked uncomfortable. All she has and the stage to spout her rubbish is all down to marrying into that lady’s family. She’s awful and he’s pathetic,

I do find their behaviour puzzling for a couple who wanted to step back and lead a private life, as they seem to be doing everything they can to stay in the spotlight. More to the point, they have nothing to offer but a relentless drip drip of trailers and interviews about the Royal Family, and all of it negative. This can hardly be a happy life for M and H, to keep picking at things that allegedly have caused grief. What will they do when they have run out of tales to tell? They seem to have no other talents.

Sparklefizz how is it Lizzie Cundy says she 'set them up' no mention of her in storyline..they met on Insta according to the docu ...Ms Cundy appears very fake when I've seen her interviewed and much to much surgery when she was already an attractive person...just my opinion

Lizzie Cundy's plastic surgery doesn't make her a liar! Who do I believe? Well, LC has no reason to lie that I can see, whereas we already know that H&M have told many many lies in the past and been caught out in them. I don't know why they've changed the story - perhaps they've fallen out with LC.

Appalling behaviour by the press and it will continue.
