So have switched onto Netflix - wanted to see for myself what the 'fuss' is all about as many diverse opinions on this couple on here and other social platforms ...as well as the media with 'experts' who state this and that etc etc...

Rosie51 Thu 15-Dec-22 18:18:08

The statement was issued by Buckingham Palace on behalf of the Queen, not one of Charles' friends or staff.

Apart from the late Queen's brilliant response that "recollections may vary", no one has quashed the rubbish rumours H & M or anyone else for that matter has come out with.

How many times do we have to read that?

The naive conceit that the Queen said it, not the Palace.

How many times?

I can’t remember the name of the chap who said it, I think it was on of Charles ‘ friends/staff. It certainly was NOT the queen !

Just to establish:
TAs are not members of a profession; that involves prolonged training and a formal qualification.
If teachers cannot manage a class without a TA then they should not be teaching.

Nonsense. With a class of 30-32 year 7/8/9 which includes at least 4 possibly more students who could have learning difficulties/ extreme behavioural issues possibly caused by autism, possibly not) dyslexia, mobility problems A good TA is essential

I can't be bothered to search for articles about Williams indecisiveness. But there will be hundreds.

And given you believe everything you read in the media, I know you remember them, including the nickname, Waity Katy.

Oh dear - so much of this whole saga has been sensationalised by the media, and yet that’s what you’re quoting as evidence. What young couple doesn’t have break ups and make ups? That doesn’t equate to indecisiveness - and it’s none of any of our business, just as it wasn’t with Harry and Meghan. Two wrongs don’t make a right, do they?

Really? How many comments have you made about H&M? Was that any of your business?

None Gagajo, if you read the thread you’ll see, I am ambivalent about them all, it just bugs me when people make unfounded comments about anybody.

That was a vile nickname, so misogynistic. Why would you repeat it? Would you be so quick to reference the nicknames given to Meghan?

Chill out Sparklefizz. It's not your own family we're discussing. It's a bunch of people none of us have ever met.
We all have a spin on things. It's called an opinion. We just don't agree is all.

William very much followed Charles' lead on taking his time to marry and being indecisive. It's worked for William, didn't work for Charles.

I don't care if any of 'em have affairs. I don't know them. My point in the last post was that W&K aren't saints anymore than H&M are.

William was 28 when he got married, which is three years younger than average for men in the UK, so how was he indecisive? Harry was 35, a year older than his father was when he got married. I’m not sure what point you’re making?
I agree with you than none of them are saints - in fact I’ve never met one in my life, but making out that William was indecisive is just silly.

William made sure that Catherine knew what she was taking on.

Poor Harry kept being ditched by his girlfriends because they knew what working life in the Royal Family coupled with the press frenzy would involve.

There are many other non-royal people involved too.

volver. Hazarding a wild guess I would say - as long as recollections continue to vary.

You're right Callistemon . That may be true but Meghan was also allocated members of staff of her own, headhunted by Harry personally when they became engaged, to aid her through the royal protocol and duties. She received extensive training, not just a few written notes.

Altogether, after their marriage, the Sussexes had about 15 staff to help run their office and their lives.

Clearly, you know who composed it.

The press office. The press office composed it.

That's their job

I'll keep repeating what I just said too
As long as posters keep claiming that Meghan was thrown in the deep end without any help

Callistemon21 Thu 15-Dec-22 17:45:58

Although it's been revealed by Palace staff that Meghan was given a 30 page dossier of information with contact numbers and email addresses for her to speak to people for advice whom she apparently didn't bother to contact.

I may have missed it but no -one seems to have commented on the fact that Netflix has altered the Queen's speech made when she was twenty-one, in which she said:
"I declare to you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong."
The words in italics are removed, altering the meaning of her speech.
To doctor a famous and renowned speech of the late Queen to further an attack on the Commonwealth is shameful.

Me neither. Kate allowing the rumour of Meghan making her cry to permeate. William telling Harry to slow down with Meghan (just because W couldn't make his mind up about marriage). Not to mention the wide-spread rumours about William's affair.

Rumours! Do you believe every rumour about Harry and Meghan? And her name is Catherine. You ensure you spell Meghan correctly, please give Catherine the same courtesy.

^ because Meghan herself said she wasn't given any advice on the job and what it entailed,^

Although it's been revealed by Palace staff that Meghan was given a 30 page dossier of information with contact numbers and email addresses for her to speak to people for advice whom she apparently didn't bother to contact. She said she didn't know what a "walkabout" was, although the clue is in the name, and also was heard to mutter under her breath while performing a walkabout "I can't believe I'm not getting paid for this."

She certainly didn't seem to be doing it "better than all the rest".

Sparklefizz Thu 15-Dec-22 17:34:03

GagaJo Kate allowing the rumour of Meghan making her cry to permeate. William telling Harry to slow down with Meghan (just because W couldn't make his mind up about marriage). Not to mention the wide-spread rumours about William's affair.

Or, of course - Meghan lying about Kate making her cry. (After all, M has form for lying, doesn't she?) Kate has never responded, as is usual with the RF. You have no idea which is the true story, and neither do I.

William has always looked after his brother. He was giving him sensible advice to get to know Meghan well and not to rush into anything. Why are you putting your own spin on that?

Gossip and rumours - how nice of you to spread them. If I had said that Meghan had been having an affair, you would be up in arms!!!

Joseanne Thu 15-Dec-22 17:31:39

How does that square with him saying they were doing the job better than the rest ?
No idea because Meghan herself said she wasn't given any advice on the job and what it entailed, so she can't have been doing everything it encompasses "better than the rest". Stepping out of cars, shaking hands and smiling is just a small part of the job, and even the anti royalists would agree has little relevance.
