Has anyone else watched this? I kept waiting for any dialogue that told me what was happening but it never came. Was there ever a mother as annoying as Ruth, talking to her daughter as if she were two. Then her son arrives and she’s the same with him, all sorry, sorry, I love you and all in such I depressing low monotonous voice. Freya only looked sullen and wild all the way through. What was the point of it. Am I missing something?
Must admit I did not listen to the last bit, thought it must too late to redeem itself, I read somewhere it was about telephone addiction, but you wouldn’t have guessed that. The only thing I did get out if it is that few could be that annoying as a mother. Are there really mothers like that?

Thought it was a very perceptive depiction of a single mum trying to deal with a teenager with mental health problems. Unrealistic that she managed to see a gp on the same day she selfharmed. Unfortunately it is a 6 month wait for teenagers after referral to teenage mental health support.Thousands in the country waiting for treatment since the pandemic lockdown.

Because of the time restraints on television that’s the only way it could end.
The part that was really annoying was the part where Freya got to see a Dr ( the victims very rarely want to discuss the problem) and then voila, you get to see an expert.
It doesn’t happen.

She was a single mum, working full time and terrified for her daughter. Walking on eggshells, not wanting to upset her and fearful of what the girl might do .
Trying to tell her girl that she was loved and beautiful.
We saw how she reacted when the mum hid her phone. She was suicidal.
She couldn’t reach her on her phone, so of course imagined the worst.
I thought it was acted well and this type of scenario is happening all the time in families.
