I haven't watched the series, and I won't, but I understand she criticised the Canadian police accusing them of not protecting her when she was living in Toronto when the news broke that she was seeing Harry.

The Canadian police have come out and denied this, saying it's not true and that they did give her protection and security.

Yet another unproven claim by Meghan .....

They have definitely be hunted and abused by the media, plenty of evidence of that.

I'm referring to their claims against the RF not the media.

Glorianny Even if you don't believe what they say they have a perfect right to say how they felt. They may have over reacted. They may be partly wrong, but all this put up and shut up is like something out of the 1950s when keeping quiet and popping pills was what was advised for unhappy women.

No-one would mind them having a whinge if their claims were backed up with evidence, but there is no proof of anything. It's all smoke and mirrors and vague meaningless comments. Where they have made any specific claims there are numerous people citing these as lies (Meghan claiming no-one taught her her how to be royal or curtsy for instance, utter tosh). Their lies and accusations are very damaging and vindictive, and I just wish they would either shut up or produce some evidence for all these claims.

Her own family consists of her mother and a niece. There are half siblings who are many years older than her and who have a very dodgy record of criminality. Her half sister set up several social media accounts to hurl abuse at her. The niece hasn't had contact with her mother for many years. Quite how much are you supposed to take from your family before you say "enough"?

Even if you don't believe the RF are racist (and why wouldn't they be? this family's wealth partly comes from slavery). She felt they were racist, They both felt she was treated differently They both felt they were victims. They were unhappy, they had mental health problems. Even if you don't believe what they say they have a perfect right to say how they felt. They may have over reacted. They may be partly wrong, but all this put up and shut up is like something out of the 1950s when keeping quiet and popping pills was what was advised for unhappy women.

As for leaving and pursuing charitable causes, they were thrown to the wolves. The pictures of the Vancouver Island house and the media trying to access the LA house were extraordinary. Taylor Perry who owned the house said none of the celebrities who lived in the valley had seen a media attack like it. The RF had withdrawn their protection, perhaps they hoped they would be scared enough to return to the UK. As it was understanding people helped them. Of course they are rich and privileged but trying to stay out of the media didn't help them, they were just hunted down. Their security costs must be huge.

Glorianny If you can tell your story and make a living from it why not? At least you aren't taking public money.

Why not? Because it's all proven lies and unproven accusations. They are playing professional victims and branding the whole family as racist with the use of smoke and mirrors. I don't know how anyone can defend that kind of behaviour.

What I mean by being the worst for him is that she has encouraged him to leave his family behind, not just leaving the RF and starting a new life out of it all, which would have been ok, but to publicly rubbish his own family and constantly

If they had decided to leave the RF and go to the US to pursue
Charitable works and so on, all would be milk and honey.
They didn’t just do that tho.
Cutting family ties on both sides and living in their own bubble whilst making out they hate publicity has resulted in a real can of worms.They should shut up, middle aged and highly privileged as they are, and realise how most people live.

I’m not a royalist but can see the positives of a very slimmed down monarchy rather than elected hos. They’re a family, dealing with all kinds of stuff in the eye of a storm. I’m glad I’m not in their shoes- any of them

Harry and William always had my sympathy, losing a loving mother early in life and having it all played out in public.
The right woman could have made all the difference to him, staying in the RF and having a family here and doing all the stuff he liked such as Invictus games.He would have been popular too.
Meghan has brought out the very worst for him.☹️

But Oreo he is still doing the Invictus games and many other charitable causes and events, including Sentebale. He is also now, because he has severed his links with the RF able to express publicly his real views about things and to become involved in things which might have been considered controversial like Mexican refugee families. Look at the Archewell website if you want to see what he is up to. And Meghan has a proven track record of charity work and promoting women's causes quite how that is "the worst" I don't know.

I m not team anybody but it’s impossible not to see the divisions caused and driven by the Media .
There are many stories of estrangement. Most people would not want to see distorted one sided news reports on this

Well if the family problems were private ones you would probably be entirely right. But they aren't. The disagreements in the family were headline news long before the split, then the split was headline news. If you can tell your story and make a living from it why not? At least you aren't taking public money.

It is actually cathartic to deal with the past, say what you saw happening and then move on. If you just bury the past and pretend it didn't happen you are storing up pain for the future. If telling the truth hurts are you responsible for that hurt?

Apologies, I shouldn't comment as I haven't watched it.

I think if dozens of different people cause you distress, friends, family, staff, then perhaps you need to question if you might just be wrong occasionally or may need some help to work out why.

There were old and new friends in the series Callistemon21 .
If family or anyone else has caused you distress you are quite entitled to leave them behind, and if they have done so publicly to tell your version of events.

Yeeees, except that Oprah said she didn’t have time to watch any of their recent stuff, which sounds a bit dismissive really. Perhaps not quite what you’d expect of a “lovely, supportive friend”.

I didn’t say anyone was torn apart. It was their need to tear others apart that makes me think there’s deep unhappiness there.
