Anyone else watch this?

Started on Channel 5 last night, carries on the next 3 evenings.

Set in Australia, husband disappears when out surfing, presumed drowned, new wife, both have troubled past family history.

It reminds me of another Aussie four nighter, a while ago, ‘Lie With Me’, in fact I thought it was the same actress playing the main part, but it’s not.

Shall keep watching as not much else on, but think it will turn out the usual damp squib.

It looked like a very low-budget production.

I rather liked the daughters top!!

ParlorGames Sat 31-Dec-22 16:17:47

Dreadful acting, dreadful script, dreadful plot, oh........and dreadful wardrobe...........what was Jo Joyner wearing? and don't get me stated on the daughters clothes.

i stuck with it in the hope that my suspicions were unfounded, but alas no. at the end, there were too many unanswered questions, what happened to naomi, did she exist, what did he do with jenny, had he murdered others? i found it far fetched, predictable, third rate and a waste of 4 hours that i could have spent watching paint dry! apologies to those who enjoyed it!

FlexibleFriend Sat 31-Dec-22 12:18:11

Very predictable and I wished I hadn't bothered, figured it out in the first episode.

Joseanne Sat 31-Dec-22 11:19:42

Yes, but at least we can all laugh with each other about ourselves watching it and not taking things too seriously!

toscalily Sat 31-Dec-22 11:03:58

Its one of those that if your watching with anyone else you look at each other at the end and ask "why did we bother" grin

Aldom Sat 31-Dec-22 10:57:58

Not the best, but it passed the time.
I guessed who the killer was by the second episode.
A very lack lustre drama.

LadyGracie Sat 31-Dec-22 10:50:36

Joseanne you've perked my interest to continue watching.

Calendargirl Sat 31-Dec-22 10:23:32

It was rubbish wasn’t it?

But it filled up 9 o’ clock viewing for 4 nights.

Did he meet the estate agent girl?
Was she another victim?

Yes. She sussed him out so he murdered her during the ad break! 🤣🤣

Yes, and I'm guessing he murdered the husband of the tall blonde lady friend too. She turned up in a final police station shot too, presumably charging him with that.

Did you not notice him scrubbing the spot of blood off the floor? In between eating his dinner? Where did he put her body? He wouldn’t have had time to go and bury it.

Yes, Hannah did her part well.

Loved the way that despite all the shenanigans, Ethan and Logan’s hair managed to stay immaculately coiffed.

Personally, thought Alison looked a mess most of the time.

It was....watchable... (with gransnet open too and a glass of white...)

I liked Hannah too. She was almost the only person who felt credibly "real".

I stuck with this, even though it was obvious by end of 4th episode that Dan was up to no good. Too many unbelievable points eg wandering into each other's house willy nilly -doesn't anyone lock their front door in Australia? 4 hours wasted.

merlotgran Fri 30-Dec-22 22:22:55

The bloke playing Dan was a terrible actor and I kept getting Logan and Ethan muddled up. 😂

At least Hannah was a credible character, unlike her dumb mother!

Gingster Fri 30-Dec-22 22:09:56

What a weak ending! All over too quickly. Daughter arriving just as mum was emerging from the forest.
They wouldn’t have been allowed In the interrogation room to see him.
A shame as I enjoyed it up until the end.

Joseanne Fri 30-Dec-22 22:06:04

And how was she allowed into the police interview room to talk to Dan?
All highly unlikely.

merlotgran Fri 30-Dec-22 22:02:55

How come Hannah got to the remote house so quickly? It was supposed to be a two hour drive.

Calendargirl Fri 30-Dec-22 22:00:04

Yep, another damp squib.

Calendargirl Fri 30-Dec-22 21:45:59

Plus scarf and gloves.

confused

merlotgran Fri 30-Dec-22 21:25:58

Joseanne

She wears those long cardis too.

And a tartan dressing gown.

Calendargirl Fri 30-Dec-22 21:13:16

Oh no, poor Jenny!

Another one to bite the dust at the hands of dastardly Dan!

Joseanne Fri 30-Dec-22 21:05:24
