Incidentally, the Ripple of Hope/Kennedy awards were hosted by that beacon of decency Alec Baldwin. Enough said.

What has Alec Baldwin done? If you are referring to the accidental shooting on a film set, it was absolutely that an accident, even the victim's family acknowledge that.

Ah, the Daily Mail. They'll be right on the button then.

"Prince Harry's been accused..." By whom? The Daily Mail I guess.

Or those completely impartial commentators Chris Ship and Jennie Bond, maybe.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave …

It's so easy to condemn the Daily Mail, but when they are quoting directly from the two interviews the facts are there to see. Maybe try getting the details of the interviews before slating the article.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 09-Jan-23 16:11:55

I agree Chestnut. I read the article to which you provided a link and the direct quotes from the Oprah and Bradby interviews were clearly set out.

volver Mon 09-Jan-23 16:13:59

Maybe try reading what the DM actually say instead of what they are implying. smile

Just watching lunchtime news on BBC. H’s allegation that Camilla had become close to the press as part of her change of image, and that this had led to stories being planted, was discussed. It was pointed out that H’s claim that she had briefed the press about her first meeting with William was untrue - her private secretary had mentioned it to someone, who then told someone else, and the PS was so mortified that he was the source that he resigned. Slurs against Camilla will not endear him to Charles.

Slurs against Camilla will not endear him to Charles.

No, they most certainly won't.
Has Harry crossed the Rubicon with those remarks about Camilla?

Harry crossed the Rubicon with his claim of "kills".

I doubt he did himself any favours with his slurs to Camilla either. Crossed that stream, casting his die twice, it seems.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 09-Jan-23 16:18:41

I’m only interested in the transcripts of the interviews, not on whatever spin the press put on them.

OnwardandUpward Mon 09-Jan-23 16:19:23

The Runaway train was in reference to Harry's tongue. As in, he keep changing his story.

Callistemon21 Mon 09-Jan-23 16:19:25

Harry crossed the Rubicon with his claim of "kills".

Oh dear, I have a really bad feeling about all this.

tickingbird Mon 09-Jan-23 16:20:35

Anybody find it rather suspect that the paper that had the “accidentally released” book was The Guardian of all papers?

The republican’s secret weapon ie Harry, isn’t the H bomb they thought he’d be. It all seems to have backfired grin

He crossed the Rubicon aboard the Runaway Train.

It would not surprise me if H were to take his own life one day. He has made such a mess of things, is not in touch with his family and is now being caught out on the lies that he and M have told. I have already said I don’t see this ending well. I didn’t like what I saw in his eyes last night.

Oh my god.

What a thing to say.

That's quite despicable, GSM

He is I believe in a downward spiral and needs love and understanding from his family.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 09-Jan-23 16:36:16

No, not despicable, volver. I have suffered from depression for many years and I have been close to suicide so I’m not talking out of my backside. If his only supports are M and a therapist who doesn’t seem to be helping him much, then I fear for his future. In the latest US interview a clip from which was shown on the news today he says he isn’t in touch with his father or his brother (unsurprisingly). That does not bode well. He believes reconciliation is possible - I would be very surprised.

They received the ripple of hope award for their ‘activism on racial justice and mental health’ so I read.
Mental health, because they speak about nothing else, but racial equality? This can only be because they lied by omission, they implied that there was racism within the RF.

volver Mon 09-Jan-23 16:40:18

Well I believe that saying you can see anybody taking their own life, on an open forum, when that person has already experienced suicidal ideation in their own family, is despicable. Especially when said completely out of nowhere with no corroboration.

There are some lines that should not be crossed and I think you have crossed one of them.

Daddima Mon 09-Jan-23 16:40:58

Can someone explain to me exactly what the purpose of the Netflix show/book/interview is?
As far as I know, they wanted a ‘half in, half out’ membership of the Royal Family, and to spend half their time in the UK. When told this was not acceptable, they decided to move to USA and become financially independent.
So, why the need to tell ‘their truth’ now? Is it for revenge, or to try to force the ‘institution’ to let them back in? Why the need to try to curry favour with the British people? I really don’t see what they hope to achieve ( apart from the dosh, obviously). None of the revelations have been exactly earth shattering, and I really can’t see the point of them ( again, apart from the dosh).

Oreo Mon 09-Jan-23 16:42:50

He sure doesn’t seem to have gained anything by seeing a therapist, in fact he was happier before ever seeing one, and before meeting MM.
Now they are both in the psycho bubble of Montecito it’s not going to improve things.
Mooning about the place in jeans and bare feet and contemplating his navel.

Chestnut Mon 09-Jan-23 16:45:35

GSM I agree he is pretty isolated with no family (except 'er indoors) and how many true friends are standing by him, if indeed he has any true friends after all this. By that I mean people he can really talk to rather than the H&M sycophants he may be surrounded by.

OnwardandUpward Mon 09-Jan-23 16:46:36

Certainly he used to look so happy photographed with W&K, they all seemed so natural together.

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 09-Jan-23 16:53:30

I’m sorry we disagree volver. He has caused a huge and perhaps irreversible rift with his blood family. He has mental health issues. If you find my opinion and the sharing of my own problems offensive I apologise. Suicide continues to be a taboo subject, as does the possibility that anyone might see no other way forward.

FannyCornforth Mon 09-Jan-23 16:55:13

They really, really did.
Out of all of this debacle this is the thing that makes me question things the most.
There was an almost tangible bond between Harry and Kate.
You could see, over and over, that they loved each other’s company
