I loved the scene in the pub when vegetarian Andy was eating pork scratchings, thinking they were just pork flavoured crisps. When he read the ingredients ''deep fried pig skin" he said "how long has this been going on?"

Said he was devastated when they couldn’t do a second series. I really enjoyed it.

It was a total surprise that they did this Christmas special so I can’t see there being another one. There are lots of actors/writers that are linked via Horrible Histories (Simon Farnaby being the main link) and I find everything they do wonderful. Ghosts has a similar feel to it: a gentle mixture of humour and sadness. And everything that. Toby Jones does is wonderful, too. He made another series after Detectorists that, sadly didn’t get a second series due to covid (I’ve forgotten what it’s called). Ian Hislop did a podcast about how the U.K. became one nation. I think it’s called This Union and he refers to Detectorists quite a lot because one of the best ways of finding out about the past is by finding old coins. Not only do they have pictures on them but the amount of silver in them indicates how wealthy a particular ruler would be at the time.

It is a fabulous series

It’s charming, so gentle and the filming is beautiful.
We are all rewatching at work at the moment.
I find Andy to be strangely attractive, and I love the friendship between Andy and Lance.

I'm about to start series 3 it's a joy to watch the gentle humour and the music is so relaxing

It’s a three part fantasy series: bit like Game of Thrones on acid! Crooke plays a central character and also wrote some of series 3. The final series was a it of a disappointment, though. It’s very weird.

Loved the Detectorists. Gentle humour to round off my day. Sorry when it ended.

Just fab. We used to do archery and that has a very similar feel - hours disappear quietly and peacefully. And the club is your family.

They can't keep just missing out on massive treasure trove though .

I loved it too, but I'm not sure how many more they can reasonably make.

I also hope not I binge watched over Christmas and it’s certainly a wonderful series. I hope they bring it back.
