What advert makes you want to throw something at the telly?

There are so many. I particularly cringe at the one for Our Time dating for over 50s. I just want to punch the two simpering actors! Grrrrrr
Also, car adverts like Peugeot who think they’ll sell cars by speaking in a silly French accent.
I must be getting old!

The ad for Domino pizza. Where they all shout and it echo's. It is so irritating it makes me want to NOT buy a pizza.

Someone else has mentioned this, but it’s the the beach holiday adverts with the boy who think it’s hilarious that his sister dropped her ice cream, the father who looks just like the gloating son, and the mum in the spotty swimming costume.

I can’t work out why someone keeps throwing flip flops at the other man though!

The ones which is most of them with mixed race families.

Really? Why? Do tell

Thought I’d be controversial, but it’s true there are so many adverts with mixed race families and it’s nearly all a white woman with a black man. It is not representative of our country as a whole. You’d think we were living in Nigeria. We all have to be brainwashed. I particularly dislike the ones with black people doing silly dances - I think it is mocking.

Yes, I agree. It's almost as though every single one has to tick the boxes for the appropriate mix of races. Obviously there are many mixed race families but there are also many more made up of a single race. And every TV drama also has to have the required mix of people, be they black, white, LGBT, disabled (or the more PC "differently abled") in very different ratios to real life.

Daisy gets my vote too - but really, all of them

tinkerbell53 Sat 18-Feb-23 16:47:30

Can't stand the ad for weight loss surgery which is introduced by an over-cheerful woman saying 'Hi!' Don't know why, but she really irritates me.

Voltarol. Anyone who has a seriously bad back does not rub this in and get relief enough to go and play golf, or whatever

Me too! Although I thought ’Bridgerton’ was brilliantly cast - it wasn’t trying too hard to make a point

Natalie Portman pouting and scowling at the camera saying “and you. What would you do for love?” It’s a perfume ad - goodness knows which one. Who cares? I thought we’d seen the end of that ad, but no, back it comes to irritate me all over again.

That's the Daisy ad everyone's going on about. I didn't realise it was NP.

Boolya Sat 18-Feb-23 17:27:38

CareCo on ITV3, with the patronising singsong dialogue.
Daisy, Daisy Daisy too.
Those chocolates where she unwraps slowly and takes a nibble - I just shout "shove in your mouth love"!

Ellymae Sat 18-Feb-23 17:45:06

The holiday advert when they start singing "it's the most wonderful time of the year" makes me think its still Christmas time

TwinLolly Sat 18-Feb-23 17:51:16

Advertisements that have nothing to do with the product they are advertising... Leaves me and DH scratching our heads.

MarianneF Sat 18-Feb-23 17:54:35

It seems we’re all singing off the same hymn sheet where annoying and undignified ads are concerned.
Just give me Hugo Boss and Chris Hemsworth anytime. Dirty old woman! Yes!!

Kamj Sat 18-Feb-23 18:07:05

The victorian plumbing advert "the boss" makes me cringe

widgeon3 Sat 18-Feb-23 18:36:50

Omaze

What a voice ... sounds so insincere as she gurns (sp) at me

Parsnip man
He seems to live in a very well finished house..... Why is he so excited about his death plan and suggests to us he is living on the fringe of extreme debt so it makes such a difference

Light porno Daisy Daisy

suppose Daisy daisy is directed at males Must be uncomfortale for these young women running down a slope breasts bouncing I wore a bra for support before that The artificiality of the 'daisies' too leads me to wonder what other fetishes they are directed to

the floor cleaning men
Why on earth do they use their cleaning pads right through the middle of the room and vaguely around the furniture again another for men

The carpet cleaning advert
talking about germs and how necessary to get rid of them
A man with a dog and baby siting on a newly cleaned carpet I think I can guess where most of the bacteria come from

pintuck Sat 18-Feb-23 18:59:42

I can’t stand the one with Judi Dench. What was she thinking appearing in that nonsense - you’d think she had enough money at her age.

glammagran Sat 18-Feb-23 19:18:11

We’re in the fortunate position of never having to see adverts. We pay a small monthly fee to All 4 and Now to exclude adverts and anything we want to see on ITV (which is rarely) we record.

Georgesgran Sat 18-Feb-23 19:32:23

Natalie Portman isn’t in the Daisy advert. She’s fronting Miss Dior, but not aggressively as in the ‘what would you do for love’ campaign.
Chris Hemsworth - he could sell me lucky heather!

Smileless2012 Sat 18-Feb-23 19:34:09

The ad for pot noodles, with the donkey sat on the shoulders of an elderly lady saying tastyyyyyyyyy. Hate it with a passion.

the women sitting on the loo telling us about pads

This one. A step too far! And ads showing women exercising, and no pad showing .
Thankfully they didn't have these when I was young. I would have been so embarrassed watching telly with my boyfriend.

That woman at the gym who says her pad is so heavy she won’t get off the floor drives me nuts, it’s disgusting. And if she is that incontinent she should see a Doctor.

ruthie2 Sat 18-Feb-23 19:44:27

Oddly, I quite like Daisy daisy daisy, and most other perfume ads especially Black Opium and Spell on You . The ad which really annoys me is for Virgin Airways with the female pilot, simply because I hate the song "I am what I am" and the singer with her raucous grating voice.
Oh and I don't like Omaze either because I think it's a swindle. Nobody ever says who wins the houses, even in general terms as per announcements for lottery wins. So, I reckon those houses only exist in Photoshop!

GrandmasueUK Sat 18-Feb-23 19:45:46

Ant and Dec on the Santander ad. They are no longer silly teenagers and grown men wearing back to front and sideways baseball hats drives me insane!

pamdixon Sat 18-Feb-23 21:01:39

So glad I'm not the only one who cannot bear the Daisy Daisy one....ditto the Ionos lady.

Supergranuation Sat 18-Feb-23 21:01:57

‘Head & Shoulders? I didn’t know you had dandruff?’
‘I don’t’

I absolutely HATE that advert!!!!!! I’d certainly never buy it!
