Weird Things Our Bodies Do

When I used to eat bananas, the little soft spots behind my earlobes would tingle, rather like snap, crackle & pop!
In my mouth, if my tongue presses against certain areas I get headaches, but they stop as soon as I move my tongue!
Anyone else have weird body happenings?

When I wear a covid mask, I can't hear as well.

If I think about restless legs when I am in bed, I immediately get them.
Similarly, for several years after the menopause, thinking about hot flushes when I was on bed was enough to bring one on.

Oh, and wiping my bottom sometimes gives me a sharp pain down the side of my ankle.

Shinamae I have just tried that, it happened to me too. I made sure that it wasn’t a hair touching my forehead as I didn’t really believe it was happening.

I can’t remember how I even found out about it, but it is a very strange sensation…

Mr fizz only has to put a mint of any kind into his mouth and he sneezes . Our grandson loves to offer him one then wait in anticipation.

My sister and my husband both sneeze with mint !

If I take my glasses off I can’t hear so well.

Yes! Yes! They used to take the pee at work when I said that!
It’s amazing how much we must lipread along side using our actual ears

If I hold a finger just a few centimetres from the skin in the centre of my forehead between my eyes, I get a very strange tingling sensation.
Third eye??…🤔

If I watch someone under water I can’t breathe

If I see someone standing on the edge of a height on TV my stomach churns and I feel really nervous, as if I'm standing there myself.

I have similar when watching a film taken onboard a roller coaster ride.
Every rise and fall is felt as I sit on my sofa. My body even moves with it as it clenches.

I feel very nauseous just before I sneeze. Also can feel nauseous after eating eggs (good if I want to diet - I eat an egg and don't feel like eating again for hours🙄).

Anyone medical on here who can explain what's going on?

I remeber my first few curries seemed unbearably 🔥hot & now the involuntary curry sweats - is there a link to this?

If I scratch an area on my left leg it makes my left nipple itch!

crazyH Sat 25-Mar-23 11:24:46

I swear by Indian Tonic Water , to avoid cramps .

LadyGracie Sat 25-Mar-23 11:17:08

I sneeze when I pluck my eyebrows or tash.
A glass of wine makes my face blotchy red and very hot.

hollysteers

Alcohol at night now gives me severe cramp.

Take a magnesium tablet before you go to bed.

Whisky used to give me a pain in the back of the neck - even a small drink - but I think I've grown out of it (or maybe my neck doesn't mind single malts?).

Walkowl Fri 24-Mar-23 20:32:40

Me too!

PinkCosmos Fri 24-Mar-23 16:24:28

Over ripe bananas and hot Vimto make me cough - separately, not at the same time.

I’m really squeamish and can’t watch operations or gory horror films. If I see or hear of something gory I get strong shooting pains up both legs. Broken glass makes me fidgety too.

I remember breastfeeding as a lovely unexpected physical experience and my daughters’s birth at the moment of birth almost like a massive orgasm!
Not so for my son sadly, who was in breech position.

A similar thread to this was on Mumsnet recently.

I don’t personally but as a child I remember being fascinated by my grandad being able to move his ears up and down without touching them. My mum could do the same, but only with one ear!

I can do that too and wriggle my nose - not at the same time though! 😂
