Anyone else watching? I think it’s excellent.

LadyGracie Tue 23-Apr-24 08:47:22

We watched the first series again before watching the second one. Brilliant series!

Greyduster Tue 23-Apr-24 08:27:33

I binged the whole series too, having seen series one. There was far more meat on the bones of this series.

Marydoll Tue 23-Apr-24 08:24:11

It is griping!

Can anyone explain the significance of everyone having piercing blue eyes? Are they wearing contact lenses?

Aveline Tue 23-Apr-24 08:16:42

I'm afraid I binge(d) the whole series. It was really good. Already looking forward to the next series

Clawdy Mon 22-Apr-24 23:10:57

Tonight's was a bit tense! And the guy answering the door to Jen was Charlie from Casualty!!

I wish I had a better memory of the plots and people of the last series. I enjoyed the first episode but spent all the time trying to remember what happened previously. I wish they gave a synopsis of the last series.

Difficult at first, I'd say give it a couple of episodes but when you get into it the characters are great. I started by watching the first series so knew the characters.

I didn't realise they carried guns either.

LadyGracie Fri 19-Apr-24 22:41:18

We've watched all of the second series and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Clawdy Tue 16-Apr-24 09:05:34

Watched last night's, enjoyed it, and looking forward to the next week's episode.

Aveline Mon 15-Apr-24 20:14:35

Really looking forward to it

I was 3 years old when the troubles started here, so I've seen before and after the GFA. I have family and friends who are/ where in the police and to me Blue Lights got it so right what life is like for them, but it's in certain areas and by certain thugs. The bombing has stopped and hopefully will never return for us all, but the hatred for the police will never stop because the mentality of some folk here. It is so inbred into their lives, young kids that look in their early teens throwing petrol bombs at the police who have only known 'peace' here, so it's parents, grandparents, peers, etc that are still passing the hatred down the generations. Now add drugs into the equation and it's made it worse. The greed now for drug money has taken a hold, but that's in many places throughout the UK and beyond. The majority of people just want to go about their daily business in peace and I think I actually do until I watch the local news at times.
The only thing is please never let these evil people ever put you off coming to this beautiful country. Where I live the tour buses are here daily on their way up to the North Coast, the tourists are from everywhere and the cruise ships coming up Belfast Lough is a lovely sight to see.

Just finished watching the whole series, I can only agree one of the best series. Up there with Line of Duty and Happy Valley.

The said that on Must Watch on BBC Sounds. I wasn’t going to watch it as there’s so much to watch at the moment but it does sound good.

Greyduster Thu 13-Apr-23 13:27:30

I started watching this, and I thought “This plot’s got more holes than a Swiss cheese” but I stuck with it and enjoyed it at the end. I hope there’s another series.

karmalady Thu 13-Apr-23 13:18:34

I watched ten minutes and decided that it looked too violent so switched off. Then I went back to it and ended up binge watching, it was one of the best series ever, gritty but no gratuitous violence. I loved the interplay between all the characters. Absolutely brilliant

honeyrose Thu 13-Apr-23 13:01:24

Yes - brilliant. I’ve watched the whole series after my DH thought how gripping it was. I didn’t understand some of it, having lead quite a sheltered life I suppose, but DH understood it on a deeper level and he explained it to me. He watches more gritty stuff on tv than I do, normally. Very good character development and great storylines. Some horrific stuff in it, but I had to watch it all. I don’t normally like police drama series as not my sort of thing and far too much violence in everyday life, so I found it harrowing, but I just had to watch it. It’s stayed with me a few days after seeing the last episode.

Brilliant series, hope there is a second series.

I have just finished watching this series. I think it has been one of the best things on TV for quite some time.

Aveline Thu 06-Apr-23 19:22:30

Oh no. Why do they do it?! Stupid men looking for fights.

Just watched Monday’s episode, very good, but with, as in many a drams programme, some artistic licence.

Pittcity Wed 05-Apr-23 22:07:22

Wow! Just finished the series and thought it fantastic. I got a bit confused as to who was on which side but all became clear. (I think!)
