Sad news - I liked him and his love for animals shone through.

He was dearly loved, as every single person on here liked him.. that is amazing

I’ve just watched a clip where he has a rant about the Tory government. If he had stood for election as an MP , he would have walked it. I’m sure he had difficulties over the years but always came up smiling. I once saw him in Hythe (Kent) as he lived locally about 9 miles away from me. He supported our local hospital. He will be sorely missed. I hope we get to see some of his television stuff again. We need a laugh! RIP Paul

Raab just got his name wrong in parliament, calling him Paul Grayson. I think Paul would have chuckled at that ( and it proved his point, too…).

Paul always seemed to approachable and almost felt like a friend. His books are very entertaining too. I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about him. Deepest sympathy to his husband and family.

I really loved his wit and sense of humour. When he read the eulogy at Cilla Black's funeral he said "There was me and our Cilla creating merry hell" As quick as a flash the Priest stood up and said "that will be two our Fathers and three Hail Marys Paul" Paul said " Oh sorry Father" and the little child and Altar boy came out in him. A genuine lovely and caring Man who will be missed by many. RIP Paul.

Loved him, as so very many did. Hilarious as Lily and a sincere, multi-talented, wise and gentle man. A genuine national treasure.

I very rarely feel sad when someone in the spotlight dies but the news this morning made me feel really sad. I always enjoyed his Battersea programmes and wondering which dog he would take home.

LadyHonoriaDedlock Wed 29-Mar-23 11:25:13

Very sad indeed.

He was one of the few celebrities who was worthy of his fame. I will miss his programmes about dogs, and the fact that he meant what he said.

So sad and so young.

A lovely man with a wicked sense of humour. He said Lily Savage had "retired to a convent somewhere in Brittany". In my imagination she's still there. Sympathy for his husband and his daughter and grandchildren. RIP Paul.

I always think of him doing his teatime Ch4 programme with his dogs, especially Olga. I never missed it. I’m really upset. He was a genuinely kind, lovely person.

Sad news. I shall miss this caring man and his gently wicked sense of humour.

I was very sad to hear the news; it must have been very sudden, he was quite young I thought.

His programme "For the Love of Dogs" was a joy, something to look forward to and his love and compassion for the animals shone through, as well as his sense of humour. I think he adopted some of the dogs himself. A lovely man.

He will be missed.

RIP Paul
