Starting at 8pm tonight (Saturday), over 3 hours of the brilliant CK on BBC 2. I'll be watching as I love her music.

I love, love, love Carole King. She's my go to when I want to have a good sing along (on my own). I think I know every track of "Tapestry". I'm out to Rurals Reels (not dancing, films in the village hall) with friends tonight so OH is going to record it for me. Yeah, that's my sitting down in the afternoon viewing for a few afternoons!

Yes, I love her!

Just realised it starts at 8.30, not 8.
Enjoy, everybody

“Tapestry” is an iconic collection of songs - and singing along brings back such memories.
Thank you, I will be watching/listening too.

Yes, I love Carole King - just turned over and got Greg Wallace 😁

I still have some of her LPs somewhere, DD has asked me not to dispose of them.

Glad I'm watching this alone, lots of singing along happening here. Quite a few songs I didn't know were hers.
And with the subtitles on, I'm singing along to ones when before I only knew the chorus

Chardy Sat 15-Apr-23 21:01:57

Have recorded the later programmes, in case I fall asleep.

Thanks for posting. So many songs I love. I'm singing along as well!!!

Loves a bit of Carole King, there was a similar film about Linda Ronstadt recently - great music. Fans of Carole King might like the series Daisy and the Six on Prime - a series about a fictional seventies band- a lot of Carole King in the soundtrack.

We came across this programme accidentally and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I'll watch it again when OH is out.

I had no idea 'I'm into Something Good' Herman's Hermits was hers. Sixty years after she wrote it, it's still sung at football grounds

Woke up this morning feeling fine
team name on my mind
We play football the way, the way we should, oh yeah
Something tells me I'm into something good.

Words may vary from team to team

Callistemon21 Sun 16-Apr-23 16:04:48

I didn't know it was sung at football grounds!

Chardy Sun 16-Apr-23 16:13:17

Heard it a couple of weeks ago.

adrisco Sun 16-Apr-23 17:28:33

Tapestry - my favourite album. Will catch up with programme on i player. Thanks!

I remember when "Will you still love me tomorrow" came out. It was very daring. We knew it was about "doing it". Don't think the word sex was ever mentioned in those days. How things have moved on.
