Roll up, roll up!

The old one is full, so post your Corrie thoughts and observations here.

Do they rent the flat? It would make more sense for them to find ground floor accommodation if possible. Most of the flats on Corrie seem to be above commercial premises though, so that might not be an option.

Do they research their proposed storylines at all before embarking on them? It’s commonly known that motor neurone disease is a devastating and often rapidly progressing condition. Yet they wait till Paul is falling over in the street before they start to wonder how he’ll make it upstairs to their first floor flat. Last night when he had to be carried up they decided it might be a good idea to look into installing a stair lift.

Maybe Fiz will return and sort her out!

Doodledog Wed 23-Aug-23 23:04:36

I don't want another baddie in Corrie grin. I like the domestic drama, not the gangsters and druggies. I know 'real life' is probably bleak in many areas, but how many ex-convicts, junkies, serial killers etc can there realistically be in such a small area?

Cassie is a very unpleasant character. Tyrone looks like he’s afraid of her and is going to be on the receiving end of her nastiness. Hopefully Evelyn will come to his rescue.

Todd and his funeral director boss have a very loud row in a public place and nobody turns round to see what’s going on! That aint real life.😉

Cassie is turning out to be as dire as predicted. I hope she doesn't hang about and make a miraculous rehabilitation.

corrie was dire tonight!

I tend to avoid Monday’s Corrie. I watch repeats of ‘Endeavour’ on ITV10 which is on at the same time, then I catch up on Corrie on Tuesday.

Endeavour is much more interesting, and I spot bits I missed originally.

Last night featured the village ‘King’s Oak’, with appearances by ‘Jill Richardson’ and ‘Amy Turtle’.

Another rubbish soap, but we watched it.

Gemma did mention once that she had been to a foodbank, only to be told off by Chesney.

evelyn and cassie will be claiming benefits.

Benefits never seem to be mentioned in Corrie land.
Nor other soaps.

Who is minding ‘the girls’ now it’s the summer holidays?

Fiz is supervising in Norfolk, Tyrone is supposedly working at the garage, Nana is no longer there…..

Are they sitting in Roy’s Rolls all day, sustained by numerous milkshakes or smoothies?

(I know they have been shipped off to Norfolk now).

Doodledog Sat 19-Aug-23 06:57:59

Evelyn said she had worked three jobs, so will presumably have savings. Cassie is likely to have a disability allowance whilst she cleans up her act.

I know Evelyn is a cantankerous old so and so, but it is so unfair of Tyrone to push her out like this.

Calendargirl Sat 19-Aug-23 06:51:34

Has Carla always spoken in that awful, grating squawky voice?

It seems more pronounced than it used to be.

If she had a Welsh accent, she could understudy for Alex Jones is it, on the One Show.

Can’t stand her voice either.

(My own voice is beyond reproach, of course, but I’m not on the tv).

Calendargirl Sat 19-Aug-23 06:46:46

How is Evelyn affording to rent a flat and keep herself? I know she’ll have her pension, but no wage from Dev’s now. (Oh, just remembered, was it lent to them by a friend?)

Poor Tyrone is so gullible.

We just need the ex girlfriend (forgotten her name) to turn up from Romania or wherever it was, plus mini Ty, who must be toddling about by now, to really set the cat among the pigeons.

Cassie will then have yet another GC to get acquainted with.

Doodledog Fri 18-Aug-23 21:16:13

She is horrible. I didn’t like her when she played Lindsey Corkhill in Brookside either grin. She seems to sneer all the time.

It’s not fair that Nana is in that flat and she is staying with Ty in the house. Fiz would sort her out - when is she due back?

lemsip Fri 18-Aug-23 21:11:09

claire sweeney who plays 'cassie' is 52.

Calendargirl Fri 18-Aug-23 20:44:35

How old is Cassie meant to be? If she had Ty when she was 15/16, she must be mid 50’s.

She’s horrible. Why does Ty believe all she says?

Don’t trust her Ty!

BlueBelle Thu 17-Aug-23 08:37:07

Gosh they both look about 15 !

Clawdy Thu 17-Aug-23 08:32:24

They are both 20. They were on holiday together a few weeks ago!

BlueBelle Wed 16-Aug-23 21:49:44

Oh really Clawdy are they older than they both look ?

Clawdy Wed 16-Aug-23 21:47:03

Apparently Lauren and Max are a couple in real life!

Aveline Wed 16-Aug-23 11:15:03

I disagree about Lauren being similar to Kelly. Kelly had been at a posh school and her dodgy dad had lots of money. This poor girl's offer of 'services' to Roy was chilling and indicates what sort of dreadful life experiences she must have had.

Doodledog Wed 16-Aug-23 09:23:01

I was thinking about Gemma’s hair - the actress must struggle with having to keep it so wispy and unkempt. I remember when Pauline Fowler always had expensively cut hair on Eastenders. It was obvious that it was well cut and in great condition even when they messed it up on set, but Gemma’s really looks straggly. Either it’s cleverly done on tv or she is very tolerant offscreen.
