Roll up, roll up!

The old one is full, so post your Corrie thoughts and observations here.

I'm not disagreeing, Shelflife. It was violent. I just don't think that many children will be watching.

The bit when Stephen was preparing his tie was unpleasant, and I really hate scenes where someone springs up on the back seat of a car 😲.

humptydumpty Tue 10-Oct-23 13:14:30

I agree about the sudden appearance at the back of the car! In my mind it goes with mirrors - I'm always shouting at the TV, don't look in the mirror!!

Evil person springs up in the back of the car- it’s a bit of a cliché. My OH said- “I bet Stephen’s in the back!”

I was half expecting it too, but it still gave me a shock. It's the same when the villain is in the house after the victim has run there for safety - I think it's the thought of being attacked on your own territory that's so horrible.

Why haven’t they found the cab with Tim in it? Hasn’t anyone at the cab office noticed it’s missing? They are dragging out this storyline……Hopefully will come to an end on Friday ( but I’m not holding my breath).

Doodledog Wed 11-Oct-23 21:30:41

Yes, it's a bit odd that Tim is still missing when the canal is crawling with police and forensics. He can't still be unconscious, surely? Where is Craigie when we need him? He'd have Tim sniffed out before you can say 'roof box'.

Charleygirl5 Wed 11-Oct-23 22:53:35

If the Tim story goes beyond Friday Tim may well be unconscious and seriously injured but he would have died from dehydration.

I hope Stephen is taken into custody on Friday also because we cannot have the factory closing down because of lack of money as well as the pub closing.

Beechnut Thu 12-Oct-23 01:51:43

Who will save Jenny I wonder?
Can Roy please take the dog for a walk and find Tim’s car.

Calendargirl Thu 12-Oct-23 07:05:58

Am I the only one who wonders why these ‘soap’ women blithely hook up with someone new without knowing anything much about them?

Thinking of both Elaine and Jenny. Each were willing to set up home with Stephen, despite dodgy happenings in his past, especially Jenny, knowing full well he and Elaine had only finished weeks before.

Then going off to a new life in Thailand at a moment’s notice. What about visas, vaccinations, medications, future pension entitlements…..?

I fret about getting things sorted if I am away for a few days.

I would never fit into Corrieland.

Allsorts Thu 12-Oct-23 07:17:51

I wouldn't fit in either, they swop partners at the drop of a hat along with their k....... Those with children don't appear to give them a second thought. Who would have given keys to Stephen to go back into the flat either. Is it just me or do you find Elaine interfering and irritating, when I watch it I find most of the mils overbearing, I'm just the opposite as dont want to be mil from hell. However it's soapland and all is forgiven. Just hope they get Tim back, he would be dead by now in real life in that boot, injured for days. However if he is found at deaths door door, he will back in the pub in two days.

Allsorts Thu 12-Oct-23 07:22:21

Hasn't Faye blossoned on Strictly, is fantastic and completely opposite to her Street persona.

Nanatoone Thu 12-Oct-23 07:45:22

I have loved the Stephen story and think he has acted it well. People hate him and he’s done his job. Please someone find Tim soon, doesn’t the cab firm have a radio and tracker?

Charleygirl5 Thu 12-Oct-23 08:12:08

Allsorts Faye is in lurve!

Cabowich Thu 12-Oct-23 08:26:06

Some excitement at last - no matter the inconsistencies and the "that wouldn't happen in real life" bits - it has made gripping watching this week.

Primrose53 Thu 12-Oct-23 09:08:43

How did he get back in the Street so quickly last night? We saw the sleeve of his jacket just as Jenny went back indoors.

Grannynannywanny Thu 12-Oct-23 09:32:07

I was glad to see Stephen back in the street at the close of last night’s episode. It looked like after changing airports he’d duped them and evaded capture. It would have been so annoying if he’d boarded a plane and escaped after dragging out this storyline for so long.

I wonder if there will be another murder before he’s finally caught. In the meantime Street Cars are missing a car never mind a driver and it’s gone unnoticed.

JenniferEccles Thu 12-Oct-23 09:34:15

I’m a bit surprised they didn’t save this storyline until Christmas. How can they beat this?

He needs his passport to get away anywhere and I think he reckons it must be at Jenny’s. She was suspicious of him when he wanted to do a joint bank account and it had to be done that day.

I did hear her say “he won’t get far” to someone, (think it was Roy) which makes me think she had the sense to remove his passport from it’s wallet.

I think he will catch Jenny unawares and she may be his next victim.

Doodledog Thu 12-Oct-23 10:56:39

Ah, I wondered what had happened to his passport.

I agree that the Christmas storylines will struggle to compete with this one, but also that it's good that this appears to be coming to a close - I'm sick of it.

I fear for Jenny - her storylines have been a bit rubbish though. I never really believed her relationships - whether with Johnny, Leo or Stephen. I don't know why, but they just don't ring true. She didn't take off as manager of the Rovers either (in my mind). She just doesn't have the personality. I'm not sure where the scriptwriters can take her, so bumping her off might be a good way of writing her out.

Not Tim though, I hope. His character is a numptie, but a likeable one, and he and Sally make a good pair, and their relationship (without Elaine) is believable.

Ilovecheese Thu 12-Oct-23 14:43:46

I like Jenny, and I like the way her character shows that women in their fifties can still be attractive and vibrant, like a sort of modern Elsie Tanner.

Who took the passport - Jenny or Audrey?

Doodledog Thu 12-Oct-23 14:50:46

Ah yes. It could have been Audrey. We didn't see what happened between her and Stephen, did we? The plot thickens!

BlueBelle Thu 12-Oct-23 15:20:01

I think Jenny is quite a likeable character and made a good bar manager so don’t agree there Doodlebug I thought her and Johnny were ok but not so interested in her and Leo that seemed much less likely and even less with this munchkin
I d rather Audrey left she gets up my nose I think Jenny must have took the passport I hope she isn’t next in line
Be glad when it’s done with

Calendargirl Thu 12-Oct-23 15:29:15

It’s all the ‘sweetheart’ this and ‘sweetheart’ that she uses all the time.

Probably darling Stephen isn’t such a ‘sweetheart’ now.

Where have Harry, Max, Sam and Lily been while all this has been going on?

Clawdy Fri 13-Oct-23 08:16:36

If you go on YouTube there's a hilarious video called Audrey Roberts Noise. It's all little clips of her way of talking.

Calendargirl Fri 13-Oct-23 20:30:26

Did Jenny not think to inform the police that she had Stephen’s passport?

Might have been useful for them to know that.
