I was going to suggest that she might be uncertain what you will like (or think us oldies can't tolerate violence/sex or be embarrassed at same) and deal with this head on by asking what sort of films she likes. For all you know she'd love a retro classic like Hitchcock's Rear Window or some Like it Hot.
If you can stream Netflix there is a series called Emily in Paris (I'd google it) which I suspect would go down well. Since each episode is around 40 mins then you can stop there and she can follow on at home if she likes it.
She maybe into children's classics like the original Railway Children (I never stopped loving it)
OTOH some teenagers can't concentrate on a whole long film as they are used to watching bits and texting in-between.
Tbh, that's how and evening with my family often goes.
If you have a smart TV with access to buying or renting newly out films then thats an option - browse together.
Again, if you have a smart TV then you can play the U tube game. You take turns choosing a song. You'll get an education into current music and in return can choose some all time classics. Chances to chat around choices.
