Just thought it might be an idea to have a thread for sharing thoughts and comments this Wimbledon fortnight for those who follow.

Thinking too of Lucca, tennis' no.1 fan.

I absolutely love Wimbledon, and have done since I was quite young, but our players shred my nerves!
Gripping stuff tonight.

Play will be suspended if they are playing at 11pm and resumed tomorrow. I believe this requirement was imposed as part of the planning permission for the court roofs, as the Club is in a residential area. Come on Andy, it’s getting a bit nerve wracking!

OMG! I needed an early night tonight but don’t think I’ll get one. Surely they won’t play to a finish tonight will they?

They're playing until 11 pm.

I'm anxiety eating, this is no good for a diet!!

I have just switched on. Ouch! shock

Murray is causing me palpitations!

My children and grandchildren were here at the weekend laughing about Wimbledon fortnight. When they were children they knew that for 2 weeks there was no children's television and always salad for tea!

batch cooks - not bath cooks! That conjures up quite a different picture!

Fabulous match!
Oh I do love Wimbledon fortnight, Dinner is cooked according to how exciting or otherwise the match is

One of my friends bath cooks pre-Wimbledon. Meals for the fortnight are in the freezer ready to heat up or has a salad depending on the weather. We all know not to phone/call/arrange social events while the tournament is on!

Great for Liam, he’s got more than 80grand now😂
Well done him

Louella12 Thu 06-Jul-23 17:47:39

Liam was a dream to watch. Nightmare at times but overall, a dream

Terrific match at the moment between Sloane Stephens and Donna Vekic.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 06-Jul-23 17:24:45

Boulder made hard work of that!

Still👍👍

Nandalot Thu 06-Jul-23 17:19:53

I have been channel hopping between Boulter and Broady whenever it got too tense!

Sparklefizz Thu 06-Jul-23 17:11:49

Fantastic performance from Liam Broady! My nerves are shredded. Not sure I can cope with Andy Murray playing quite a lot later.

merlotgran Thu 06-Jul-23 17:08:44

Well done Broady

I wanted Thiem to win, even though I like Tsitsipas. Poor Thiem has had such bad luck over the past couple of years with his wrist injury. It was a tough draw for him to come up against a top 5 player in his first match.

No one else been watching Theim v Tsitsipas? What a match. You couldn’t have picked a winner.
I won’t say who won in case anyone will watch on catch up. So worth watching.

Yes excellent match - thoroughly enjoyed it.

That was a cliff hanger!

I am intrigued by the 'jackets' worn by the linespeople this year.
Can't think of a better way to describe them - they are like a cross between a cardi and a waistcoat. To me, they seem far too short, for the men at least. A smart blazer would look much more 'finished' and go some way to concealing a lot of er, generous tums.

I saw a couple of very generous tums yesterday, the style is most unflattering.

ixion Wed 05-Jul-23 20:32:53

Ah, it is a cardi. Ralph Lauren,, no less. Yours for £269

Yes, I glimpsed a bit at 1 set each, then I saw the final set. It really couldn't have been a closer match!

Super match and I wanted them both to win! Tsitsipas spoke well afterwards too.
Looking forward to his match against Andy Murray tomorrow evening.
