My daughter went with my DGD. My daughter hated it. She didn't say why. The DGD loved it.

Oh, the frocks... especially the gingham!

I think the costume designer should get an Oscar smile

I saw it on Sunday with a group of friends. We all wore a touch of pink and the cinema had an oversized Barbie doll box for us to pose in. Good fun. Loved the sets and the frocks!

Two of my granddaughters, cousins, went last week, all dressed up in pink.
I feel really sad for the youngest whose four, she loves Barbie but she can’t go.

Really liked Barbie film. Colourful, fun with good acting and the themes of feminism and empowerment for women and men. Couldn't believe the cinema was full, mainly adults in pink, great atmosphere.

I haven’t been but just about everyone I know including my unbarbieish daughter (who I ve never seen in pink before) have been and all have enjoyed it I didn’t fancy Oppenheimer either but I think that I m the one out of tune

I'd like to see Barbie, I've heard Ryan Gosling is very good as Ken and I like Margot Robbie. However, we've opted to see the rather more sober Oppenheimer first which I've booked for tomorrow. I hope Barbie will be around for a while.

Allegedly both films released on the same day, had some people going for both in two back to back sittings. Could there be a weirder coupling the lighthearted and the serious! which way round to do it? Anyway, I do gather they are both highly successful.

DGD had been with her mum so today I went with a friend!

It's great fun - very inventive cinemaphotography, costumes and a great soundtrack. We both accidentally wore pink smile 😍

I saw Oppenheimer on Monday and Barbie today - a girl's gotta do something on dreary grey mornings in London Town!

That’s Divine!

Barbie doesn't age, I do, Barbie never looks a mess, I often do. Barbie never puts on weight

I haven’t been to the cinema for over twenty years!

The last film I went to see (reluctantly) was Love Actually.

I didn’t have a Barbie (they were in my mom’s list of ^common things^) but I was allowed a Sindy (a brunette one).

I didn’t like dolls as a child, soft animals were my thing.
Both of which were probably foreshadowing my child free, pet mad future self.

I do have an Indian Barbie, bought in Goa.
She’s beautiful. I will post a picture later

The trailer looks fab!

DGD(14) is coming next week and I'm desperately hoping she'll consent to come with me to watch grin

The soundtrack is great

It's a 12A, so not for kids!

I want to go, looking for a cinema buddy to accompany me.

DH thought it was aimed at young children was surprised that it isn’t.

I like Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie who are the main Ken & Barbie.

I have no idea what this film is really about, but as Barbie was introduced to the world pretty much on my birthday, I feel quite protective about the doll and her image.
Barbie doesn't age, I do, Barbie never looks a mess, I often do. Barbie never puts on weight,
not true here. Barbie will never die, I'm guessing I will. That for me is the irreconcilable truth. But not to be put off, in my pursuit of perfectionism, I've just rifled my wardrobe for some pink trousers and a sparkly top ready to head for the cinema.
Anyone else going?
