Is anyone still listening or have you given up?

Farzanah Tue 20-Aug-24 08:50:00

I think he phoned someone who would hide him for a while.
I don’t think he would phone anyone who would tell him what he doesn’t want to hear - to just come clean.

NotSpaghetti Tue 20-Aug-24 08:35:37

Yes, I wondered if she might be instrumental in a confession.

Just a fleeting thought.

merlotgran Mon 19-Aug-24 22:46:23

Surely Shula would also urge George to go to the police? She’s a vicar and related to Alice.

NotSpaghetti Mon 19-Aug-24 22:33:52

merlotgran

Who do we think he phoned?

The woman who now has Bartleby?

Shula?

Wyllow3 Mon 19-Aug-24 22:26:41

Well now right you were Delila.

I'm beginning to feel fed up with he dragging out.

Next up Emma has to share with Ed? Will they remain silent?

Farzanah Mon 19-Aug-24 20:34:45

How much more of this ‘dragging it out’ melodrama can we put up with until the truth emerges. I hope not several weeks.

Does anyone think George is planning to do a runner?

Wyllow3 Sun 18-Aug-24 20:04:41

Yes!

At the end the announcer hinted at complications and Will having to step in....

eGJ Sun 18-Aug-24 19:17:33

Well, this evening has left us on tenterhooks and with questions. Let’s hope tomorrow brings some answers

Delila Sun 18-Aug-24 17:39:39

Emma has reminded us that George was originally trying to be helpful - he wanted to get Alice safely home. This may serve as mitigation, but if only he’d left her to sleep it off in that lay-by.

His later actions, in moving Alice into the driver’s seat, and deleting his incriminating phone call, are going to be harder to explain.

Margs

Wow! Snivelling George is going completely unhinged now.

Was he really and seriously hoping to crash into Alice's hypnotherapy session and literally force her to stop remembering the real details of the accident?

The way his voice was squeaking up and down with hysteria when arguing with his Mum was a gem.

We can only hope margs he spills the beans!

I hope so - he must have raised ?? in the police mind about why he'd come forward?
Kate will presumably tell Alice and it might trigger more memories and definitely make her suspect about George's lying...will it reach Harrison...

Delila Mon 12-Aug-24 13:51:04

I think George has now given the police reason to take a closer look at his part in things, and any available evidence. His story about Harry was easily disproved.

Wyllow3 Mon 12-Aug-24 00:14:18

We were left with a bit of a cliffhanger, as we dont know what the police response was/will be to Georges' story. Begin to suspect? Just think he made a mistake about the fleeing person?

But Kate will now know and pass it on and Alice knows it couldn't have been Harry and....

Was surprised at Will.

NotSpaghetti Mon 12-Aug-24 00:08:41

I think he will trip up in court.
And what's happened to Alice's car?

Farzanah Sun 11-Aug-24 20:39:22

George has just sealed his jail fate when the story unwinds. Serves him right!

charley68 Sun 11-Aug-24 20:18:02

George has no morals, is a total coward and a bully. I'm so glad that Emma has told William, but even that is awful - they both cannot call the police! They are now in a conspiracy to cover up a crime. It is horrendous.

Is Emma still on the parish council? I've forgotten!
Foundations of village life will be rocked.................

eGJ Sun 11-Aug-24 19:52:00

And damaging Caroline’s memorial bench!

Davida1968 Sun 11-Aug-24 19:49:10

IMO George has twice before "got away with it" when doing illegal things. Does anyone remember when the church's money box was stolen and everyone blamed Alf? (Eddie's brother.) There was an implication it was really George. And then George set fire to the post office's letterbox, when Susan had posted something.... Just saying.....

Delila Sun 11-Aug-24 19:23:48

He’s confirmed himself as a really nasty piece of work.

merlotgran Sun 11-Aug-24 19:21:17

Oh what a tangled web we weave, George.

I thought it was quite funny listening to Will tying himself in knots over it.

What a shower!

eGJ Sun 11-Aug-24 19:17:02

Well Wyllow rehab as we all thought! Now where does that leave George?

Wyllow3 Sat 10-Aug-24 13:01:09

Well yes, she is a dreadful gossip, but who else is Emma close to? She cant talk to Fallon. Talking to Neil would be the same as talking to Susan.
