I have seen odd bits of this show but don't watch it regularly, so may not be entitled to voice an opinion. Still, I will say that Gyles Brandeth is a big turn-off for me, because he finds himself so amusing.

I understand that Richard Osman invented the game. I would love to have a dinner party with him as main guest with Giles, Steven and a few of the women guest hosts too and ask Richard to choose his successor. Personally I would have Giles and Steven altenately.

I can never see th sense in these programs. They bore me.

I went to a recording of Pointless. Neither Alexander Armstrong nor Richard Osman made any connection with the audience AT ALL. Both on their phones or tablets etc….. It was very disappointing.

But Bradley Walsh on the Chase!!!! He was all in the audience and absolutely great.

I agree "Richard Osman loves himself" too much. Couldn't stand him. Glad he's gone! Several of the guest hosts have been good. It can't be easy stepping into someone else's shoes especially when it's a longstanding show like Pointless.

Just get rid of Alexander Armstrong who clearly has been there too long - so full of his own importance and so, so repetitive in each programme now. Surely he can think of some variation of 'not bad'!

I'm with you Grannyjacql. Have you noticed that he takes every opportunity to pretend he is eating, drinking or chewing. I have to go away until he's finished. I assume that it's his best 'party piece'!

PS Sorry to be a miserable Mona but no, I don't want Richard Osman back, though I do like his House of Games, but that's more thanks to the question writers and competitors than him.

Can't stand the man. Not watching while he's doing it. Tried it, found him as self-righteous, up-himself and irritating as he always is.

I can't stand Gyles Brandreth either, find him smug, irritating and generally annoying. I've just surprised myself too, I thought I was more tolerant than that!

Definitely prefer Steven Mangan - wouldn't mind him as a permanent fixture!

I loooove Stephen Mangan. Loathe Alexander Armstrong.

(But I don't watch the programme).

I saw Mr Brandreth for the first time yesterday and was initially very pleased, but quickly very disappointed. I think Stephen Mangan has been head and shoulders above everyone else.

I like Gyles I know he talks a lot but he is also very interesting.
Like others I thought Steven Mangen was a good fit and also Alex Brooker really gelled with Alexander.
Interesting how we are all different in our tastes. Just as well really.

No no no, not Gyles Brandreth on pointless. He's too full of his own importance. It will take a special person to replace Alexander and Richard.

I'll be glad when Mr Brandreth's stint is over - a clever man but too pompous. I don't like Richard Osman either - another one who is too full of himself. And as for his novels... yawn, yawn. Liked Alex Brooker and Lucy Porter and, best of all, Stephen Mangan - great sense of humour and very easy on the eye.

Richard was the best but I do like Giles and Stephen.
Sally Lindsay was the worst.

We also disliked Sally Lindsay in the hot seat. She just read blandly from a screen. I liked Stephen Mangan, too.

Oh I forgot about Alex. Quite liked him too.

I thought from the title it was about Guest Hosts on shows who were of no use i.e. pointless!

So did I!

I keep reading it as guest houses: probably because that Ch 4 programme about guest houses always seems to be on when I’m channel hopping.
