I am really enjoying listening to Podcast via my Smart phone and through my hearing aids.

I get mine through BBC Sounds and can recommend Life Changing with Dr Sian Williams. I also like Yeti. At present I am listening to Lady Killers with Lucy Worsley.

Where do you get your podcasts from please, are they free and how do you access them ?

I would be interested to know this, as I have never listened to a podcast.

I would be able to listen through blue tooth on my smart phone to my hearing aids.

Hi Jan you may need to get your audiologist to connect your smart phone to your hearing aids.

You need to download the BBC Sounds app onto your phone, then click onto the app. If you look at the bottom of the screen it has Home, Music, podcasts, my sounds and search. It is all relatively easy to choose programmes from the Home page to download. You can’t lose anything so just play around until you become confident.

I listen when I am out walking on my own. 👍

I listen to Charles Spencer and Richard Coles (can't remember the third person's name, a woman), their podcast is called Down the Rabbit Hole and they talk about all sorts, history, many topics and they digress, hence the title.

Believe in Magic was fascinating ... its about the charity by that name and the conning of a very big name in entertainment as well as Joe Public. (But there's much more to it than that).

I mostly listen on BBC Sounds or Apple podcasts on my iPad, whilst I'm doing housework. To me it's like radio, excepting you decide the content!

Yes I tend to listen to Bbc Podcasts or short stories. I listen to the News Agents (not bbc) and also Bbc Newscast.

I use Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

I listen to several via LBC and have the LBC app. (Free).
I listen to these (among others)
The News Agents - Emily Maitlis, Jon Sopel and Lewis Goodall chat about news of the day. Often have guests.
The News Agents USA - Also Maitlis and Sopel
The Rest is Politics - Alistair Campbell and Rory Stewart speak in some depth on topics pertaining to the news and life today.

Via the BBC app I listen to
Westminster Hour
Newscast
Ukrainecast

Via their own website I listen to
This American Life
www.thisamericanlife.org

There are lots of other great podcasts including the Ted Talks

As I have Prime with Amazon I use Amazon music for some of the crime podcasts I “enjoy”.

I almost exclusively listen to BBC sounds podcasts or stream their programmes. I especially appreciate the adaptations of classic literary works on 4extra. Otherwise I get my podcasts through Google podcasts but I recently got notification that that service will be discontinued. Some podcasts are also uploaded to Amazon Prime but I find that they sometimes mangle the files.

One podcast I follow which my DS2 recommended was Sticky Notes which analyses works of classical music. That is fortunately available on its own website, so when Google podcasts packs up I can listen (and download) from there.

Some podcasts are only a available through subscription services such as Spotify. So While the podcasts themselves are free, you still have to pay to get them.

It is such a pity that the BBC changed the format of their podcasts page. You Used to be able to call up a list of all available podcasts but now you have to actively choose a category, which means that you might forget to select, say World Service (which has some great content) or "History" and miss out on something you wanted to hear.

I mainly use spotify, I have a guilty secret of true crime podcasts, and I enjoy some political podcasts. I have really enjoyed life changing from the BBC though.

I use Apple Podcasts. I love The Rest is Politics and The Rest is History. I also like:

Newscast
In Our Time
BBC History Extra
Off Air with Jane Garvey and Fi Glover
Stories of our Times (from Times Radio)
Unbelievable? (Premier Radio)
Zoe Science and Nutrition
Reasonable Faith

In answer to your question, NanKate, they are all free and I access them via the Apple Podcasts app on my phone or tablet. They will be available on other podcast apps too. If you have Amazon Prime you can listen on the Amazon Music app without ads.
