We're ready for Blackpool !

That’s a good point about Leyton and the choreography, if Nikita puts in the right steps it’s up to him to make sure Leyton dances them .
However Leyton is used to interpretation, so veers on his own path

I don't like the "choice" one either - generally mawkish or otherwise indulgent and inevitably overmarked.

Regarding the steps and being correct though, if Nikita (or the specialist choreographer) puts in the correct steps, Nikita can of course insist they are danced correctly but as you say, aggie Leyton is used to more freedoms and is used to being able to interpret things.

He is the one who needs to follow instructions and to execute the steps taught.

In one episode (when he did particularly well) he said "well yes, I did listen to him this week" or something similar. He obviously can be disciplined if he wants to be.

No messing around Bobby, really going for it! Brilliant!

Callistemon21 Sat 09-Dec-23 19:45:49

Loved that, Bobby!

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 19:46:08

Loved Bobby's quickstep. I'm always a sucker for a man (boy?) in tails, and I thought he did brilliantly tonight.

TillyTrotter Sat 09-Dec-23 19:46:34

It was brilliant and that performance should boost his spirits for his second dance. He does seem to have come into this as semi-final as the underdog.

Sweetpeasue Sat 09-Dec-23 19:47:23

Wonderful quickstep.Light and fast.

Callistemon21 Sat 09-Dec-23 19:47:40

Oh Craig!! You have to, don't you!

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 19:49:36

I am grinning from ear to ear for his marks. grin

gillgran Sat 09-Dec-23 19:50:57

Great start, Bobby in the semi-final, boy did good.!! smile

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 19:52:17

... partly because Bobby's smile and joy is so infectious.

Joseann Sat 09-Dec-23 19:55:42

The camera isn't showing enough of Layton's feet to judge.
Not very exciting.

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 19:58:05

The camera was in the wrong place for part of Bobby's quickstep - all we could see was the back of Dianne for a few seconds.

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 20:07:40

Oh goodness, there goes Anton again with the same jokes. Sigh.

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 20:21:44

Love Vito! Describing his next dance "We have the stick ...."
(corrected to "the cane")

TillyTrotter Sat 09-Dec-23 20:24:31

Judges continue to use different standards when commenting on each couple’s dance.
How can Motsi say (to Annabel) that her dance does not need to be perfect?
They are much tougher on Layton.
Bit of a nonsense to me.

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 20:24:50

Wow! Bobby! So intense!! He has been terrific tonight!

aggie Sat 09-Dec-23 20:29:09

Loved Both His Dances , well done Bobby !

TillyTrotter Sat 09-Dec-23 20:30:45

Bobby must have rehearsed long and hard this week and produced two excellent dances tonight.

Sweetpeasue Sat 09-Dec-23 20:33:35

What!!!!
Incredible energy.Amazing. Layton and Nikita.

Callistemon21 Sat 09-Dec-23 20:33:37

Well, Layton and Nikita that was great!

But it was show dancing.

Joseann Sat 09-Dec-23 20:33:49

No one else could have done Layton's dance. I loved it.

aggie Sat 09-Dec-23 20:36:14

It was fun

Callistemon21 Sat 09-Dec-23 20:36:18

I do hope they take Layton on as a Strictly professional. He would be a great addition to the team.

However, he still shouldn't win. It would not be fair.

Sparklefizz Sat 09-Dec-23 20:38:13

Layton could not be a Strictly professional because he's not experienced in Ballroom and Latin enough to teach others.
