Confession ….. I have never watched more than a few minutes of this prog but this time around I plan to because Fred Sirieix, Grace Dent and Nigel Farage are in it which should be interesting.

Oh well there’s a surprise!

Louella12 Sun 10-Dec-23 22:02:04

Well done, Nigel

Voted for Tony. I'm hoping he'll win but not confident

Shinamae Sun 10-Dec-23 21:53:18

Quite pleased with final 3 would now like Tony to win 😁😁😏

merlotgran Sun 10-Dec-23 21:50:41

Nigel did well to come third.

maddyone Sun 10-Dec-23 21:30:41

I couldn’t eat any of those things. I can barely watch Sam eat them.

Shinamae Sun 10-Dec-23 16:48:15

It’s a kick in the teeth for ITV already, just think what it would do to them if Nigel did actually actually win 😁😂

fancythat Sun 10-Dec-23 16:04:57

Out of the final 3, I dont much care who wins.

I think politically, Nigel will consider it was well worth going into the jungle.

Aveline Sun 10-Dec-23 15:57:14

I agree. To my surprise Nigel has been a good camp member. He's just got in with everything he's had to do and has worked away at keeping the camp clean and tidy and supplied with wood. He's cheerful and friendly. I doubt he'll win but well done him for getting to the final.

I agree with Primrose53 that they have always sniggered at Nigel one way or another, mostly Josie and A&D and usually behind his back. But considering his age and being a bit different from the others I think he has done brilliantly. He is an only child I believe. He said he is 'not a hugger' and you can tell he isn't used to such closeness, so the rough and tumble of camp life may have been difficult for him.

The fact that he has made it into the final three shows there are a lot more supporters out there than we might imagine. I think they keep their heads down because social media are full of haters who are very vocal.

Well said…..👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Don’t forget they’re celebrities and saying they want Nigel to win is a no no. Everything is about their public face. The same with Hollywood A listers. They aren’t all democrats and hate Trump - nothing is as it seems with showbiz types; especially these days.

Chestnut Sun 10-Dec-23 12:49:58

I agree Sam has really overplayed the ADHD card and it's becoming a turn off. I don't know how Tony puts up with being jumped on all the time. It's totally overwhelming. He has the patience of a saint and deserves to win just for that reason! Will Sam's behaviour turn voters off him? I find it interesting that everyone has said they want Sam to win as they leave, except Josie who was happy for Tony or Sam to win. I notice she didn't want Nigel to win, no surprise there.

tickingbird Sun 10-Dec-23 12:49:46

Regarding votes - it’s been confirmed that after third place has been announced all votes are scrubbed and voting opens again. 5 more free votes on the app after 3rd place so if you want your favourite to win don’t forget to vote again.

^It’s said he already has a massive contract heading his way anyway^

Oh, not more of him please ........
And yes, I know there's an off button but if he's flavour of the moment then there's no getting away, is there!

Yes there is, switch off. I do the same when Starmer comes on TV.

maddyone Sun 10-Dec-23 12:02:36

I also think the sniggering and snide remarks are beyond the pale

So do I, but this behaviour reflects on those engaged in it, not on NF. We do not have to be a particular fan of NF to observe this behaviour and find it objectionable, as I certainly do.
I don’t think he’ll win. I hope Tony wins now because Sam is getting on my wick, despite my having sympathy for him with his condition of ADHD. He is an adult, not a child, and whereas I know ADHD sufferers struggle with appropriate behaviours, this is not a permanent feature of their personality, it is intermittent, and I’m wondering if he is playing on this childlike persona now to elicit votes. Part of the ADHD condition is shown through severe anxiety and I see no sign of this in Sam. I’m aware of course, that the condition affects people in different ways.

Nigel was brilliant last night. I was worried he wouldn't be able to cope with cyclone but he did so admirably. So pleased he's in the final 3 smile.

Perhaps Nigel won’t win because he’s not the most popular person on there? I don’t believe that viewer votes are fixed, so what will be will be. In the meantime why are some people looking for grievances because he happens to be their favourite - it’s just a TV show, and if the subsequent fortunes of previous winners are anything to go by, with very few exceptions (not necessarily the winners either), it doesn’t make any difference to how peoples lives pan out.

It wouldn’t be the first time votes have been rigged on ITV. 😉

I don’t mind if Tony or Nigel win but I would prefer if Sam didn’t. He is now putting on a lot of this hyper, jumping on people stuff. even the most hyperactive children can be taught about personal space and what is inappropriate behaviour outside of their own home. It’s said he already has a massive contract heading his way anyway.

There must be a lot of people out there who do support NF to have got him this far.

tickingbird Sun 10-Dec-23 11:18:09

I don’t think NF will win overall but he has won in other ways.

I also think the sniggering and snide remarks are beyond the pale because if it was anyone else it wouldn’t be tolerated. They’re allowed to make fun of Nigel because he’s a hate figure. Such double standards and hypocrisy.

This .........

I'm not keen on Nigel Farage or his politics, but must admit that he seems calm and stoical.

If I had to choose someone to be with if we were lost in the rainforest, I'd choose him or Tony to keep us alive!
Can you imagine that boy being much use?

maddyone Sun 10-Dec-23 10:38:56

I also think the other contestants have been unkind and unfair towards NF at times. However we don’t know what ITV have chosen to show or not show because it often looks as if NF is a bit of an outsider, but I’ve seen clips where he is shown deep in conversation with others, especially Fred when he was in the camp.
Maybe the others think an association with NF would be a death kiss to their future careers because he is extremely unpopular with some people, especially the media, and they all rely on the media for their work.
To be honest, none of them can hold a candle to him intellectually. He is far more intelligent, educated, and articulate than any of the others. But for many people, he simply holds the wrong views.

Considering his age he’s done so much better than the rest.
Mum says he has true grit!

Primrose53 Sun 10-Dec-23 09:31:54

ITV will fix it so Nigel doesn’t win and I don’t suppose we can check.

He has put up with a load of stick from people, like Josie covering her eyes when he was in his green, lycra pants and laughing her head off but he said he really didn’t care. Tony and Sam looked equally daft but nothing was said.

Likewise Ant and Dec were joking about him going so slowly in the Cyclone carrying the big stars but it worked and he clung on to them for dear life and it could have been a much more different outcome if he hadn’t. He was brilliant at all the general knowledge questions the night before too which the others couldn’t do.

I guess they feel they can make jokes about him as he is that much older which isn’t very fair. They were all laughing because he liked to keep the camp tidy but that was just commonsense and they wouldn’t have been laughing if it was over run with rats or someone fell in the fire due to stuff being left about.
