Confession ….. I have never watched more than a few minutes of this prog but this time around I plan to because Fred Sirieix, Grace Dent and Nigel Farage are in it which should be interesting.

Aveline

I see on Twitter (X) that she's expected to play the race card soon or, at least, once she's voted out. Of course her current unpopularity is nothing to do with racism, it's her behaviour.

It would be a nonsense to do that as no-one's criticising the lovely Marvin (not that I've watched much of it so far).

Yes, it's her diva behaviour and as for Jamie Spears, surely the producers should not have let her be a contestant as she is obviously not capable of taking part; they surely have a duty of care?

No need for apologies GG smile

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Nov-23 10:49:11

Sorry tickingbird I wasn’t aware you meant celebrity big brother, my mistake.

RP was just out and out malicious, I couldn’t call her a diva more of a b*#ch

No Roxanne Pallett told Big Brother and housemates that Ryan Thomas had physically assaulted her. He was really distressed and it was a blatant lie. Annoyingly in these pc times, BB went along with it even though they knew it wasn’t true. Thankfully it was caught on camera and the public saw what didn’t happen. I vowed then to never watch it again. Her behaviour was appalling but Ch 4/5, whichever one it was on, was even worse.

As for I’m a Celeb and Nella, what infuriated me was the fake campmates giving her hugs and sympathy. Fred didn’t do anything wrong and she needed calling out not comforted for her faux upset. Get her out.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 22-Nov-23 10:07:07

The established diva in Big Brother was Nikki Graham in 2006, she suffered from anorexia most of her life and it led to her death in 2021.

Viewers are lining up to slam Nella for her behaviour, likening her to Roxanne Pallett in Big Brother, who suffered a massive backlash when she unjustly accused a housemate of something. In fact it ruined her life and her career, so people should take care how they behave in the goldfish bowl.

Nella was being an absolute diva, and poor Fred thinks he is in the wrong which he isn't. She has dug herself a hole and now has to work out how to get out of it, otherwise the hole will just keep getting bigger.

Smileless2012 Wed 22-Nov-23 08:38:54

Didn't Nella say she wont eat anything Fred cooks? She's going to get very hungry if that's the case.

Joseann Wed 22-Nov-23 08:27:33

Fred's own daughter is nearly 20 years old, so not much different from Nella. She is a diving champion, I think she represents Britain. His comment was quite normal in everyday conversation and he apologised for upsetting Nella. The argument showed how things get blown out of all proportion when one person won't back off.

Aveline Wed 22-Nov-23 07:57:48

Nella's just not very bright is she. I felt so sorry for Fred. He is old enough to be her Dad. She was completely unreasonable and irritating.

Chestnut Wed 22-Nov-23 00:57:10

Agree Nella and Jamie Lynn are really annoying with all the hysterics and weeping. Both behaving like children to be honest.

Although the viewers know how to put people in line! I had to laugh when they voted Jamie Lynn for the next challenge. The message was 'Now we'll really give you something to cry about'. 😂😂

I watched the first episode and liked it sort of apart from Nella, she's insufferable, that constant screeching and yelling will get people out of the jungle more than the trials could. Is there nothing these people would not eat or do for money.Nella shovelling a writhing pizza into her mouth made feel physically sick, that's all I'll ever see if I look at her, that doesn't show how good they are just that there's nothing they would not do for money and a bit of fame. I might flick channels to listen and watch them chatting, but the trials no thanks.

Sorry, it sounds as if the Bake Off was more interesting

We watched the Bake Off
It sounds much more interesting. 🙂

I don't really get all this drama stuff, (Ella and Jamie Lynn). They know what they are letting themselves in for when they sign up for the show.

Casdon I’d never even heard of Jamie Lynn until two nights ago, although I’d heard of her famous sister. So no, I haven’t read her book I’m afraid.

What an attention-seeker!

She's not a celebrity, get her out of there.

Juicywords Tue 21-Nov-23 21:56:19

Nella’s attitude is really immature. She was also acting up for the camera, as when she was retelling her story about Fred to the others she glanced up at the camera to check she was being filmed. Can guarantee she’ll be voted out first.

rafichagran Tue 21-Nov-23 21:24:54

What was Nella's problem, I could see what Fred was saying re the age. He just said he was old enough to be her Father.
Nella showed a very young immature attitude. Shame as I did like her.

Casdon Tue 21-Nov-23 18:06:22

Just look her up on Wikipedia or similar, we probably know less about her because she’s American, but she’s done and experienced a great deal. I knew about her because I read on the news about her young daughter’s horrible accident a few years ago, and she’s been mentioned in the Britney custodian saga with their father on occasions. It’s enough to make you hair curl.

If it wasn’t Farage it would be one of the others. The only trouble is none of the others have led particularly interesting lives. Last year we had Mike Tindall, Boy George, and Jill can’t remember her name, who was the captain of the women’s football team. Interesting people. And that’s precisely why they got Farage, love him or hate him, people talk about him. It’s a shame the others are a bit nondescript. But I like Nella.

You are kidding surely, just read Jamie Lynn Spears life story - she’s packed a huge amount of drama into her 32 years!

Although I'd never heard of her! 😁

maddyone Tue 21-Nov-23 17:55:53

No I don’t think so Callistemon, Ant and Dec make little jokes about different contestants each year, but I think the contestants need to have something about them that lends itself to jokes. Farage clearly fits the bill, as others have done in past years, but this lot this year seem a pretty docile and not particularly interesting lot. My opinion obviously.
But I like Nella, because she’s happy and noticeable.

Is there usually one contestant who is chosen to be the scapegoat?
Just like Strictly, none are picked at random, the choices are carefully orchestrated
