Nigel Farage on I'm a Celeb etc (sorry forgotten the name of the show)
I've never watched it before, and I dont know any of the other contestants, but could be fun.
No doubt he will be given the most gruesome challenges.🤣

Hate is such a strong word. I didn’t like him but I’ve grown to like him he’s been correct on everything he said years ago and he can’t do alot of things after he had a sharp brush with death in a plane accident from what I heard. I am watching it and enjoying it as always. Btw how can you hate someone you have never met. Go Nigel 🤣🤣🤣

I don’t think he’s dangerous now though is he?
It was to do with Brexit and our leaving the EU that made him dangerous to the establishment.
There are many far more dangerous people in the world than Farage.

Except for the fact that he’s worming his way into the Conservative Party and some people think he could become leader. Supposedly everyone was fawning over him at the party conference.

I think Nigel Farage will be interesting and will say a lot of things that many people agree with but don’t feel they can say. I find him fascinating and admire him for standing up against almost all the other politicians at the European Parliament, he took te money and made for some very awkward situations but he never backtracked. At least we know how he really thinks and feels.
I have read that he is being paid 1.5 million to appear and if this is true let’s hope he gives his moneys worth.

I love Nigel! Expect he’ll be fun in the jungle.

EEJit Tue 21-Nov-23 11:45:41

He's hardly the world's most hated man, I can think of plenty of others

Why is he the most hated man in the world? I like him.

He'll be friendly, complete all the tasks, gain stars for food and generally appear as Mr Nice Guy.

It's his affability, his friendly neighbour, man in the pub persona which makes him so dangerous!

spabbygirl Tue 21-Nov-23 11:16:40

no, loathsome man

I’d call it a figure of speech Namsnanny and certainly not meant to be taken literally. This is a programme made by the British, for a British audience, and featuring mainly British performers. It’s light hearted and not in any way claiming itself to be English exceptionalism, nor are you claiming English expressionism in your light hearted title.

Namsnanny Tue 21-Nov-23 00:08:43

^ "The worlds most hated man" when 99.9% of the world won't have heard of him is an example of English exceptionalism - assuming that England represents/ is superior to the whole world somehow^

No CocoCoco it's an example of my odd sense of humour, and the fact that I have to write things very quickly these days, as my memory fails me, which leads to many a mistake. smile.

BTW I consider myself British.

CoolCoco Mon 20-Nov-23 17:09:27

maddyone I was referring to the title of this thread - describing Farage as the “worlds most hated man” when 99.9% of the world won’t have heard of him is an example of English exceptionalism - assuming that England represents / is superior to the whole world somehow.

^For me the entertainment and intellectual content are nil.^

I don’t think anybody watches it for its intellectual content! 😂

😂😂😂

After concentrating on more intellectual programmes, it's sometimes a relief to watch a bit of rubbish.

Although I watched the skyscraper bit with my eyes shut.

Farage is someone i definitely do not like. I dont watch the jungle anyway. In Scots he would best be described as a “wee nyaff”.

RosiesMaw Mon 20-Nov-23 11:33:41

Having a big following is no indicator or guarantee of probity though, is it?

karmalady Mon 20-Nov-23 11:17:10

I like Farage, he says it as it is and he actually has a big following

biglouis Mon 20-Nov-23 10:59:03

Ive never watched this show any more than I would watch Big Brother. For me the entertainment and intellectual content are nil.

I also like Farage and agree with many of his views.

Haha, I knew a thread would appear on here at some point about this.
I often watch some of this, but don’t normally watch every episode it goes on rather a long time.
Anyway I’ll definitely be watching. I need to watch tonight as I don’t have a clue who the other celebrities are, so not sure that they really are celebrities. So I’ll watch tonight and probably mostly watch after that. I’m looking forward to seeing Nigel Farage and how he copes in the jungle and with the other celebrities people.
I missed it last year as we were in New Zealand with our daughter, so no idea who was in it or who won. So it’s two years since I watched it.

I lied!
I’m so sorry. I did watch it last year. I thought we’d gone to NZ before it was on, but we must have gone afterwards because I remember watching Matt Hancock, and wasn’t Boy George on too? It must have been on earlier, because we left for NZ on 30th November last year, and it was obviously all over by then. It won’t have finished that early this year as it’s already 20th November now.

henetha Mon 20-Nov-23 10:22:51

I always watch it regardless of who is on it. I find it very entertaining and it makes me laugh. Nigel Farage certainly won't put me off watching it. Like him or not, makes no difference to me. It's just a tv programme.
I recorded it last night so haven't seen it yet.

Callistemon21 Mon 20-Nov-23 10:21:56

Anyone up for watching the worlds most hated man in the jungle? 😂

Well, I wondered who was lost in the jungle when I saw the heading - there are a few to choose from but Farage didn't immediately spring to mind!

Why do they call it a jungle? 😠
It's a rainforest
