Anyone agree that Channel 4 has reached a new low with this trailer? ‘Executives’ twerking and worse in their white underpants displaying ‘carbon skid marks.’ I understand the underlying message, but really?

Yes, I had a look at complaining - Ofcom seems concerned with companies advertising on specific channels and not with any channel’s trailers. That only leaves a direct complaint to channel 4 using their complaints form - will give it a go but don’t hold out much hope.

Hi I find this advert very offensive and have reported it to of.com I have never done this before but think this advert is disgusting I know what they are trying to get over but don’t think all the sexual connotations and skid mark on the pants is the way to get this message over .please will others report it of com have said the report will be shown in 2 Mondays time .

Bikergran I totally agree it’s the most disgusting ad I have seen , it’s not about carbon footprint , it’s a political ad against the government and full of sex acts , I am not a prude but I am disgusted by it

I have just seen it, it’s absolutely awful.

Oh - I thought you were going to say it was an ad for washing powder.

My mind (sorry blush)

Me too, sorry.

I haven’t seen the ad by the way.

Terrible advert.
Yes I've noticed it but could not tell you what it is advertising as I don't take a lot of notice so it's not really doing the job intended.

I hadn’t seen it but soon found several references to it online, including a Mumsnet thread where contributors were generally as shocked as Gransnetters. I found it absolutely gross and can only assume participants were desperate to earn some money!

It's a truly awful ad for something or other.

Ofcom deal with television programmes and trailers. ASA UK deal with adverts so Ofcom definitely are the place to go to but they have a set of things they look at and I am not sure what this trailer comes under.

Here is the response to my complaint to Channel 4. At least they replied, if a little patronising- of course I realise what they are trying to put across in the trailer just don’t agree with the content 😠 -

Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding the trailer for Climate Change Season.

The premise of this campaign is to raise awareness for an upcoming series of programmes dedicated to exploring the impact of the climate crisis. The series forms part of Channel 4’s ongoing commitment to inform the public's awareness and understanding of this urgent global issue.

Please be assured we do take all comments seriously and will ensure your objections in regard to the content of this trailer are passed on to those responsible for our marketing and promotional output.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate all feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise.

This advert not only disgusts me but being shown at any time of day when young children are watching is very worrying. My young grandsons thought these people’s bottoms were bleeding and thought it would happen to everyone, try explaining that to 5/6 year olds. I cannot believe this is still being shown, it does not make me think about climate change at all considering all the sexual thrusts it’s just shocking and makes me feel quite sick. As soon as it comes on now I change channels
