Joan Collins and Louis Theroux interview

On BBC 2 now
Anyone watching this? She is amazing for 90! Obviously her hair is dyed, (or is it a wig?) and is heavily made up but still looks great. Very watchable.

Yes, worng word. Guest, you are right. We are talking abut Joan Collins, who spends much of her time in St Tropez, France, New York and Los Angeles, and who she chooses to meet up with.

Nothing to do with my 'imagination', or 'British bashing' (FGS!)- many people have been angered, and much more importantly, concerned about British security, since Johnson attended such bunga bunga parties, not cleared with Security- when Foreign Secretary and later PM- in Italy.

So yes, it would be very interesting to hear from both Joan Collins, and Katie Price, about what happened then. Many of us have been wondering why they were not officially interviewed by Security Services. So yes, it would have been a very valid, and much more interesting question- than the rest of the drivel.

The constant feed of Britain and British bashing is becoming tedious.

I wonder what would happen if we constantly posted about the Swiss and their links to Putin and oligarchs, hoarding of Nazi treasures, Italian mafia who live there, secretly hiding their wealth, human trafficking, organised crime?

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 22-Nov-23 11:54:56

Do you mean ‘what if she was the guest of a Russian Oligarch’ (and Mafia Bosses or Drug Barons) *FP? I wasn’t aware she might be hosting these people - and I couldn’t care less either way. You have a vivid imagination.

The question remain, why was she the host of a Russian Oligarch at bunga bunga parties in Italy?

😂 oh Jesus,
Only on GN would anyone care.
I’m genuinely shocked that some people have nothing better to worry about.

But back to the subject.
I love Joan Collins & will watch this on catch up.

And - she's British born and bred!!
😂😂😂

Link? Meaning? Relevance?

NONE.

So yesterday she was there now today she was ^the host of a Russian Oligarch^

Pardon?

Honestly you lot are quite something. What if she was the host of Mafia bosses, or Drug barons? The Russian Oligarch question, and the links and influence to the UK is a very interesting one. Not to you- fair enough.

No, it's probably because of the reason I stated above 😂😂😂

I've never watched him, did he have a famous father?

Louis Theroux's father is the novelist Paul Theroux, and his cousin is actor Justin Theroux (apparently they were quite close as children).

Marcel Theroux, who is Louis' brother (I think) has just had a documentary on TV - The Bunny Girl Murders. His voice is very similar.

I couldn't recommend the documentary and feel like I wasted two hours of my life watching it. Not because of Marcel Theroux, but because of the way it panned out.

Joan Collins never had a look that I wanted but I’ve always admired her style and zest for life.
Louis Theroux is an excellent interviewer. Luckygirl, what do you believe he could have done about Saville. His predatory behaviour was an open secret by then, one which no one was willing or able to ‘do anything’ about

But this programme is about her not him.

Well, it is about her life, and her connections.

The question remain, why was she the host of a Russian Oligarch at bunga bunga parties in Italy? And as said, it would be very interesting for her to describe what was going on with other guests, in her company.

Meant to say ‘There’s nothing like a dame!’

Calendargirl Wed 22-Nov-23 06:58:34

I think Joan Collins is one of the last, if not the last of the Hollywood stars of the 1950’s and beyond.

Yes, she wears a wig, make up trowelled on (bit too much blusher) and for the first time last night, I really thought she was showing her age. Looked rather unsteady, obviously grateful to sit down or hang on to Percy when walking.

But goodness me, at 90 years old! She still gives great interviews, Piers Morgan did a good one with her a while ago.

Nothing like a dame!

vegansrock Wed 22-Nov-23 06:35:51

I love Louis Theroux’ interviews even if I don’t like the subjects. The one with Anthony Joshua was fascinating .

Chestnut Wed 22-Nov-23 00:44:20

I think Louis Theroux is amazing. He can always get his subject to relax enough to open up. He can ask personal questions that many people would take offence at being asked, but never offends them. He has interviewed the strangest and most unpleasant people and yet can talk to them without any apparent discomfort. I'm talking Americans, crazy, aggressive religious groups, cult members, people living in group marriages, lots of quite scary people. I admire him greatly.

I don't agree she looks terrible. She's terrific for her age and is honest and interesting. I've always admired her.

I went to 'an evening with Joan' a while back and she was brilliant and interesting. I did not know what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

^She looks terrible^
She is 90.

granfromafar - was it interesting, did we learn anything new? Pertaining to Joan, of course, not politicians (unless she was married to one!).

Well I found it interesting and learnt quite a bit about her. Would recommend it.

MayBee70 Tue 21-Nov-23 22:29:41

She always seems to be very controlling when she gives interviews so I’ll be interested to see how Louis gets on with her. I watched his interview with Pete Doherty last night. I was channel hopping and didn’t intend to watch it but I was engrossed.

Luckygirl3 Tue 21-Nov-23 22:28:46

I cannot bear Theroux. He is such a poser - all the disingenuous false innocence. It does not matter most of the time, but his relationship with Saville ..... he knew - he jolly well knew what was happening, but did nothing. Theroux's autobiography shows that he knew.

Harris27 Tue 21-Nov-23 22:19:16

Yes she’s had work done but she still looks great.
