Do you have an ‘old lady crush'?

Or an ‘old gentleman crush’, if you are not an old lady?
I have been watching The Good Doctor, about a surgeon with autism and savant syndrome. You must suspend belief a great deal, but I have developed the said ‘old lady crush’ on Freddie Highmore, who plays Shaun, after seeing him interviewed on You Tube.
My friend loves Harry Styles, and my daughter-in-law says her crush is Timothee Chalamet ( whoever he is)

I don’t count my Paul McCartney or Sam Neill crushes, as they are nearer in age.

Ex-footballer David Ginola - even if he just reads the telephone directory and Chris Hemsworth, of course.

Definitely agree with these two plus David Essex. I do rather like a ‘pretty boy’ grin. As a massive Spurs fan I taught my then young grandson (he is 26 now) to chant “ooh la la Ginola”, drove his Mum mad smile

I'm with you on Chris Hemsworth. First saw the Boss advert and now when watching a comnercial tv station I just hope he appears.

Did you know there’s a Chris Hemsworth calendar?

Timothee chalamet is lovely, just seen him in the Wonka film tonight. I actually saw him live on a red carpet film premiere in Leicester square London, when a beautiful boy was the film (which he was in), my other crush is Bobby brazier who is a contestant on Stictly come dancing UK.
He is just sweet and cute.

I first saw him in that racing film in which he played James Hunt.

You know what they say Oreo

I think there is some truth in that, getting older doesn’t stop us appreciating male beauty.

Dylan Moran - Black Books, Shaun of the Dead. Have seen all his stand up tours .

Interesting thread😄
Have never heard of loads of these men mentioned btw.
Am not exactly an old lady as yet, but have no crushes on actors or anyone else.I did have a massive crush on a boy at school, but then I was only 15 at the time.
Do posters really mean that they like or just quite fancy people, a different thing?

MrsKen33 Sat 09-Dec-23 19:38:33

Rege-Jean Page. Those of you who mention him as your ‘crush’ , I presume due to Bridgerton? Have you read the Bridgerton books; one for each child. Interesting

Gundy Sat 09-Dec-23 19:02:07

Not one but three - Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders), Hauser (Croatian cellist) and Stanley Tucci (with his recipes).
They’re all so different - trying to figure out what the “attraction” thread is…

Tom Baker. Tall, witty, intellihent, brilliant actor both serious and comedy. I bumped into him when I was coming out of the bookies in the late 70's. He was filming in Suffolk, Dr Who. I was only a teenager but... ooooh. Big swoon.

Seagull72 Sat 09-Dec-23 17:39:43

Rufus Sewell and Colin Firth as Darcy. I got obsessed with Pride and Prejudice during Covid lockdowns.

Azalea99 Sat 09-Dec-23 17:39:23

Bertie Carvell. So classy

Will Kirk from Repair Shop is mine, then someone mentioned David Olusoga, I could listen to him for hours.

Supergran1946 Sat 09-Dec-23 17:22:46

Stanley Tucci for me, I could listen to his voice for hours 🤣🤣🤣

I’m really embarrassed to admit this, but Austin Butler of Elvis fame. I’m old enough to be his mother, but something about him in the role just makes my heart flutter….

Tenko I agreed on the limited version of Vigo Mortennsen, no opinion on the other person you named.

It is amazing what film make-up and a wig can do to a man.

He was also gorgeous in Hidalgo and a cowboy film he made. What made him even more adorable is how he bought the horses he worked with and gave them a home for life.

No old lady crushes here, but I still think fondly now and again of my teenage crush: Moshe Dayan ( I was 13 during the Six Days' War).

lilydily9 Sat 09-Dec-23 16:30:07

Luke Pasqualino who played Elvis in 'Our Girl' and D'Artagnan in 'The Musketeers'.

bikergran Sat 09-Dec-23 16:05:26

BlueBelle I thought it was just me! I must have led very sheltered life as I have never heard of 90% oh these people people.

Emelie321 Sat 09-Dec-23 16:03:36

Sam Heughan in Outlander for me, too.
And he's around the same age as my son.
Am I a cougar??blush
