Whilst channel hopping late last night I hit upon this chick flick film. I don’t watch chick flick films (I don’t think I’ve ever watched Love Actually or Four Weddings in their entirety). But I couldn’t stop watching it. Might have been because I’d seen a programme about Ryan Gosling on Sky Arts and also the wonderful James Garner was in it. I kept thinking how sickly it was but still couldn’t stop watching. Similar thing happened when I saw The Holiday a few years ago, not realising that it, too, had become a cult movie. Didn’t recognise the actress but, on reading up on her realised I’d seen her in other films (eg The Time Travellers Wife) and that she has become a highly respected actress along with being an all round nice person.

) think Love Actually is quite sexist and unpleasant.
