Just read this on the news.

The Met investigating are they? What more could possibly go wrong…

It was Computer Weekly who reported this to start with and then the Daily Mail were next to report ….. you know the newspaper that lots of people hate 🤣🤣 and they did so extensively.

It is a shame that it has taken all these years for this massive miscarriage of justice to be taken seriously.

Radio 4 has been reporting on this case for some time, too.

Shouldvend with a full stop.

A minor point of fact, Private Eye have been reporting this story for twelve years. Ian Hislop is delighted that the story has finally reached a wider audience. Well done ITv?

I too feel disgusted that it needs a TV drama to prompt an investigation. This distressing and cruel situation has been highlighted in the media for many years now; shame on those who have deliberately turned a blind eye.

This is exactly how I feel.
Typical!

Now there is this

Gillian Keegan lives in Petworth in West Sussex with her second husband, Michael, and has two stepsons.[40]

Michael Keegan is currently employed as a crown representative to the Cabinet Office, managing cross-government relationships with BAE Systems as a strategic supplier to the Government,[41] He is a non-executive director of the technology company Centerprise,[42][non-primary source needed] having previously been Head of Fujitsu UK and Ireland during the latter part of its involvement with the Post Office scandal.[43]
Fujitsu seem to have continued to be given huge contracts by the government. Can’t help but feel that it’s quite lucrative to be married to someone in government.

Crozier seems to have his fingers in a lot of pies.

When he was CEO of Royal Mail Group, he closed post offices, made staff redundant and reduced mail deliveries. He sounds ruthless, a "hatchet man".
ITV staff were warned about possible job losses when he joined them.

However - the buck stops with the CEO and it is quite mysterious that the previous CEO, Adam Crozier, was not named in the drama or documentary, as I have queried previously.

Apparently he is now Head of ITV (not sure of his correct title) but that might answer the question.

Ed Davey was a consultant for the lawyers acting for the Post Office against the sub postmasters at the same time as he was Minister for the Post Office in the coalition government.

Like I said in my previous post, the whole establishment needs investigating, including the Church.

Adam Crozier is no longer CEO' of ITV, he left in 2017. He is currently Chair of BT.

Any decisions or changes to legislation that are made in quick response to public anger are usually poor decisions/legislation.
I (as I said) am really unclear about the Ed Davey timeline - was it at the same time or was it after? I am not doubting you flappergirl, just I have read in some places that it was after?

Galaxy was saying the same thing as me in fact.

After reading your link:
However, Vennells is not the only one culpable. The head of the Post Office Legal Department had a lot of questions to answer at the enquiry

There were many who are complicit in this - it seems like a conspiracy.

Yes I dont like this kind of thing. I dont want one person on a spike so to speak because everyone is cross. There are numerous people culpable in this.

I think you and I are in a minority about this...Galaxy I feel uncomfortable with the hate fest...

The Met needs to investigate itself before anyone else. If they can drag themselves away from online porn or taking photos of murdered women that is.

You just know nothing will come of this don't you. The whole of the "establishment" needs to be investigated in my opinion.

Thanks MaizieD

Who was the Computer Weekly journalist featured in the ITV documentary?

MaizieD Sat 06-Jan-24 18:08:11

It seems some did see it, Callistemon, but were easily discouraged from pursuing it
