I was pleased to see this was back with a new series last night but what a horrible ending.

Is this how Will is going to be written out? ☹️

Hmm. Spoiler alert?

I enjoyed the first episode as well, good to see Leonard back with his project.

Hmm. Spoiler alert?

Not really. It was reported in the Radio Times and has been mentioned in other previews.

What has happened to the café?

Knitandnatter Fri 12-Jan-24 15:31:46

Mrs C just as cantankerous as ever.........and the old pram she found in someone's attic for the vicars forthcoming baby hmm

If it’s already been shown ‘live’, then it isn’t a spoiler, IMHO.

I watched Truelove last night, and will catch up with Grantchester tonight.

Thought it would end after Will got married though?

eddiecat78 Fri 12-Jan-24 15:53:03

Who was looking after the little boy when Will stormed off?!

hollysteers Fri 12-Jan-24 18:09:15

Haven’t watched since James Norton disappeared 😢

Doodledog Fri 12-Jan-24 18:10:07

Oh, I didn't realise it was a new series. I'll watch it in bed tonight, I think.

Callistemon21 Fri 12-Jan-24 18:27:02

We watched it but realised that we must have missed a whole series last year so were rather confused as we didn't know Will had got married.

Keep up at the back there!

😃 must watch on catch-up

Last time I saw his wife she was married to someone else, had a new baby and living with ghosts!

Calendargirl Sat 13-Jan-24 07:05:22

Not keen on Will’s wife (sorry).

They just don’t look a pair. And her hair looks an odd colour.

Geordie looks quite old now.

sodapop Sat 13-Jan-24 07:11:31

No idea about the cafe sorry merlotgran

I found episode 1 of series 8 rather tedious. I will see if it improves with the next episode. Otherwise I think perhaps it has run its course.

Clawdy Sat 13-Jan-24 11:41:50

So - do we know if Will is leaving?

kittylester Sun 14-Jan-24 12:41:13

I have never watched this - should I start from the beginning?

LucyAnna Sun 14-Jan-24 12:51:48

If you can get the early series, it started with James Norton in it…….just saying…….smile

kittylester Sun 14-Jan-24 13:09:52

Sounds like a very good reason, LucyAnna.

RosiesMaw Sun 14-Jan-24 13:13:50

I lost interest when James Norton left.
(Be still my beating hear)
I wonder why?

Greenfinch Sun 14-Jan-24 13:14:09

I watched it for the first time last week but found it incredibly boring and mundane. Perhaps it doesn’t really gel without the background of the earlier series.

RosiesMaw Sun 14-Jan-24 13:14:51

Heart ❤️ ❤️

It’s not as good as it was.

I'm happy to go along with it because I've watched from the start and have kept going. Now on Series 8 !! I feel a connection because I know the area.

Was astonished when Will stormed off because his wife needed to visit her sick mother. What was all that about? He had been trying to be a good father and she had just left him in charge of the little boy, so why on earth was he behaving like a petulant teenager? Look how that ended.

In that brief flash the man he ran over looked like Leonard's friend, I hope not.
