Sadly, it has been reported Ian Lavender has died. A great actor and the last of the main cast of Dad's Army.

I will watch a few episodes tonight in tribute, especially my favourite "The Deadly Attachment."

What a wonderful show it was and I agree they do not make them like that anymore. RIP Ian.

Stupid boy! That's all the cast gone now, I think. They don't make sit-coms like that any more. mae13 I am glad I am not the only one to think James Corden is dire.

RIP PIKE

Yes, the last of genuinely talented and skilled actors. Now all the tv channels can serve up is dreadfull "reality" rubbish and the likes of the appalling "Gavin & Stacey" featuring the dire James Corden.

RIP. The last of the Warmington-on-Sea Home Guard. Brilliant actors all.

What a cast they were!

Sad news, he seemed such a nice chap. He’ll be forever young in many people’s hearts.

Ilovecheese

I saw him in Ghost Train at The Lowry theatre in Salford. I think his father wrote the play.

Ghost Train was written by the actor that played Godfrey, whose name escapes me now.

RIP Ian. You were part of my youth.

It was Arnold Ridley who wrote the play.

Didn’t he also play Private Godfrey in Dad’s Army ?

Ilovecheese Mon 05-Feb-24 17:42:47

Ah thanks. It was a good play anyway!

‘Don’t tell him Pike’….!

Do you remember, when he was on Celebrity Mastermind, John Humphreys asked his name and someone called out "Don't tell him Pike!"

Sad news
The last of the wonderful Dad's Army cast.

RIP Ian Lavender and condolences to his family.

We often watch an episode of Dads Army if we come across one.

My late mum used to say “you stupid boy Pike” to my stepfather. Made them both chuckle. She bought him some socks too with it on & he had fun wearing them occasionally!

Condolences to his family and friends.
Thanks for the laughs Sir.
RIP.
