DJ Spoony is sitting in for Scott Mills on Radio 2 - I wish he could replace him permanently.

They're both boring. No fun like in Steve Wright's day. sad

Bridie22 Wed 06-Mar-24 07:27:02

Not keen on either...would prefer Gary Davies.

Kandinsky Wed 06-Mar-24 07:27:12

Anything’s better than Scott Mills to be fair.

Kandinsky Wed 06-Mar-24 07:28:15

I gave up on R2 when Ken Bruce & Steve Wright left.

kittylester Wed 06-Mar-24 07:35:20

I found Steve Wright annoying by the time he left but I love the mix of music on Radio 2 so stuck with it. I also like Gary Davies.

Funny you should mention it….. was listening yesterday and just thought why am I listening to this rubbish music??

Loved Steve Wright and Scott Mills isn’t too bad to be honest, but DJ Spoony is hitting a new low!

Casdon Wed 06-Mar-24 08:18:27

Gary is one of my favourites too. I did read somewhere though that he doesn’t want a permanent daily show, he likes the current arrangement t where he already does a lot of work with his own show and covering. He was on the charts show last Saturday and he even brightened that up.

I’m not a fan of Scott Mills, nor (sorry) did I listen to Steve Davies. Bringing back Simon Mayo to the afternoon slot would be good!

I don't like Vernon Kay so I followed Ken Bruce to Greatest Hits Radio.

Gary Davies is great and one of my favourites. I like Tony Blackburn's Sounds of the Sixties on Saturday mornings, and Sunday Morning Lovesongs (Nicky Chapman is hosting that at the moment), otherwise I have given up on Radio 2.

Bridie22 Wed 06-Mar-24 08:24:07

I think once Johnnie Walker leaves so will I.!!

NannyJan53 Wed 06-Mar-24 08:30:22

Agreed Bridie22 Johnnie Walker is the last decent DJ left on Radio 2. Craig Charles was excellent but I think he is on 6Radio now?

Kandinsky Wed 06-Mar-24 08:50:12

What’s happening to Steve wright’s Sunday love songs? Is anyone taking over?

Bridie22 Wed 06-Mar-24 09:09:26

Nick Chapman doing it for now until a replacement is hired.
Love Songs won't be the same without Steve, I wasn't his biggest fan but he fitted nicely on love songs.

Kandinsky Wed 06-Mar-24 09:33:11

Thank you.
Yes agree, will never be the same without him.

I have never known a group of people that take so much time off....where is he?
Same with Zoe Ball, she is off so much

Visgir1 Tue 12-Mar-24 14:36:35

Anyone is better than Scot Mills. Spoony is good comes across a nice man. Covers for my favourite Trevor Nelson Spoony has his own show on Saturday's.
I was never a fan of Steve Wright's shows.

Super Sub Gary Davies is good, I tried but have reduced the time I listen to Ken Bruce as the adverts drive me nuts.. Only switch across when Jeremy Vine starts his show.
Thank goodness for Alexa.

Zoe Ball’s mother recently passed away

Zoe Ball’s mother recently passed away

Zoe Ball’s mum has been diagnosed with cancer, which is why she is taking time off.

BrendaB Tue 12-Mar-24 15:46:14

Much prefer DJ Spoony’s voice and choice of music to that of very bland Scott Mills. Talk about personality bypass !

Cins Tue 12-Mar-24 15:53:23

Zoe Balls mum has died has she? oh no that was quick. that is sad

Csarbs Mon 18-Mar-24 14:18:12

I love listening to Zoe Ball and Vernon Kaye, very funny feel good programmes. I think Jeremy Vine is the most depressing programme. He should be made to have one day per week talking about only happy and positive topics.
Scott Mills is so boring, not missing him at all!

kittylester Mon 18-Mar-24 16:44:35

Zoe's mum hasn't died!

Poppyred Mon 18-Mar-24 16:47:26

Where has Scot Mills gone? It’s getting from bad to worse, Ryan is standing in for him next week. 🥴🥹

kittylester Mon 18-Mar-24 17:34:04

Scott is planning his wedding i think.

Cins Tue 19-Mar-24 08:26:18

where is Scott Mills, he has been off for weeks
