Happy Birthday Caroline

I listened to Radio London (Tony Blackburn. Kenny Everett). Found Caroline too loud and shouty. In East Anglia we were glad of the Pirates because regular BBC radio reception was awful.

When the pirates were shut down I listened to Radio Veronica. I had started learning German by then so could understand some of the Dutch. Then I moved to Germany (1976)

The best. Johnny Walker with Percy Sledge at bedtime.

Me too - "Let me wrap you in my warm and tender love"

Or “When a man loves a woman …. she can do no wrong.” Beautiful.

Mike Ahern is the DJ I remember the best, and Tony Prince, that was Radio Caroline North. Loved listening to it.

Used to love listening to Radio Caroline. Such great music. I too loved Johnny Walker and his love of soul music. It felt so immediate with their talk of cars flashing their lights at the ship across the sea.

It was a lovely surprise to hear Tony Blackburn on the radio this morning. He's such a professional and sounded just the same as he always did. Happy memories.

I’m looking forward to seeing Tony Blackburn in a few weeks time and hearing the stories he is brave enough to share!

I remember well listening to Radio Caroline on my wee tranny and the reception kicking in and out. I had to search for it at times. Loved it.
