Somehow around 1967 I was at an event at Imperial College, South Kensington. A group called Pink Floyd were playing in a fairly dark room with psychedelic bubbles projected onto the wall behind them. The music was typically weird but people were enjoying it because they were lying on the floor stoned! I had to pick my way across the bodies to reach my friends in the bar on the other side. Pete Townsend was in there having a drink. I recognised him but didn't know Pink Floyd because they were very new, and whatever it was they were playing that night was just a tuneless, weird, psychedelic sound to me! I don't think See Emily Play had even been released by then but when it came out I loved it and bought it.
I didn’t have a record player but bought See Emily Play. I used to walk to my boyfriends house, leave him downstairs with his mum and shut myself in his room so I could play it over and over again.
