Love him or loathe him, Clarksons Farm series 3 is now on Amazon Prime. We loved the last two series, hadn’t laughed so much in years.

I too love this series. I wondered if it was a vanity project at the beginning with Top Gear no longer an option for him but he has a real love for farming. His poor manager, Charlie, must feel like tearing his hair out at times but it shows how hard a farmer's life can be with bureaucracy and poor returns for hard graft and they don't have the huge income from TV and books that Jeremy Clarkson has at his disposal. I am looking forward to watching this.

It’s very informative in a non preachy way. The scenes with Kaleb and the ex rock band members (not a clue who they were) were not just hilarious but accurate from both points of view. Regenerative farming is the way forward and I bet more people will take an interest after watching Clarkson’s Farm than any episode of Countryfile.

I’m trying really hard not to binge watch as I’m always sorry when it ends.

He does put the spotlight on the difficulties farmers are facing now with so much bureaucracy, supermarkets driving down the price farmers are paid, the need to diversify just to survive and yes, most farmers don't have the cushion of money that Jeremy has to fall back on.

No Farmers No Food!

Because we are rural based it’s easy to predict what is likely to happen because it’s been done so often for real, Clarkson arguing with Caleb how to do a job, thats exactly what happens between father and son on farms.

Problems with the local council, upset the local village and you get real problems, because they will make you fight for every little thing, some you may win but it will cost you.

Charlie the advisor has seen it all before for real, it will be interesting to see if the environmental or the cropping makes any money. Likely neither will.

And, if this was a farmer without other resources to fall back on, how is he/she supposed to make a living?

Many make almost all of their income from diversification and environmental payments even large farmers. There are developers who have made money from building buying farms, putting the whole farm into environmental and just doing whatever management is needed, not growing any crops.

Sooner or later I expect glamping will be his new ‘thing.’

A sure fire winner given the long queues to his farm shop!

Love this programme. I like Jeremy Clarkson but who would want to be a farmer. One thing’s for certain JC is not afraid of hard work.

LOL, Filming for Clarksons farm is exactly the same as filming Top Gear and some of those episodes have been very muddy too.

I absolutely love the show and have been to the farm twice. Jeremy was there the first time, chatting to people, and his partner was serving in the shop.

I watched four episodes last night, and I do hope there are more to come. I was surprised by how sentimental Jeremy was about his animals, bless him.

Charlie has no hair to tear out Sarnia grin.
Sending love to Gerald flowers.

I have watched the first episode of the new series, laughed and cried (I am rather emotional at the moment) Didn’t want to binge all four as I like having something to look forward to 🤣

The most recent episode showed the reality of what can go wrong with livestock farming, however farmers dont get sentimental about animals. You look after them as best you can but at the end of the day they are food.

Sows giving birth in outdoor arks with lots of straw means you are going to get a lot of piglets squashed, sows are very clumsy there are simple ways of giving piglets refuge . They were very unlucky to loose a sow that’s very unusual no apparent reason yet, in addition the vet bill is going to be massive.

Thanks for that. He really does love it, doesn’t he? It was also interesting to hear about Kaleb’s business, as I had no idea it was such a large concern!

This made me laugh.

Can't stand Clarkson at any price so never watch. My daughter though tells me it is a good programme and I should try it.

It is the same with us, our son and daughter-in-law love it but because we dislike Clarkson we have never watched it.
