The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

I must admit to feeling very sorry for Gemma when she was upset about the nursery phoning her to say that the little girl had blisters from wearing too tight shoes. What an existence, living hand to mouth with all those children.

Poor Joseph, his stepmother being outed as a thief in front of all his posh friends. Bet he won’t be on anyone’s invitation list now.

vegansrock Tue 25-Jun-24 13:05:20

I think she did use the food bank until Chesney told her not to.

Yes I don't think the shop owner followed Gemma Doodledog just a Corrie coincidence that he was the father of one of Joseph's friends from school. He was collecting his son & friends from Gemma's house.

I realised that not long after I posted - doh grin. I watched it late last night with half an eye, and caught it on catch up properly this morning.

All the same, it's not very believable that he's behave like that, or that there'd be an independent shoe shop. The last one where I live closed down when my children were still at the foot measuring stage, and they are in their 30s now.

I agree about Gemma getting help, MM . With all those children surely she'd be entitled to something? And I also agree about the number of people in Soapland who seem to eat out all the time.

Ah, right, I must have missed that.

Calendargirl Tue 25-Jun-24 16:03:03

What happened to the sponsorship deal they had with a newspaper or similar when the quads were born?

Did that dwindle away?

Seem to remember Gemma and Chesney had to doll themselves up for photoshoots.

suep1953 Tue 25-Jun-24 16:05:56

I always thought Chesney & Gemma rented off the Council. It certainly was a council house when Les Battersby lived there with Janice and then Cilla.

Aveline Tue 25-Jun-24 17:01:47

I don't think it was suep1953. Mike Baldwin had it done up for Bet Lynch. It was the latest ultra modern when it was done! I don't know who the ownership passed to.

Doodledog Tue 25-Jun-24 17:36:00

It was a council house when the Battersby's had it, suep is right. When Janice left Les, he and Kirk pretended to be a couple as t'council wanted to rent it to a couple/family. Maybe Mike sold it to them.

Beechnut Tue 25-Jun-24 18:19:27

Perhaps it changes hands to suit the story !

Aveline Tue 25-Jun-24 18:51:38

Yup. Just like so much in Corrie!

Doodledog Tue 25-Jun-24 21:42:00

That's a definite possibility 😂

Charleygirl5 Wed 26-Jun-24 21:36:25

I expected to see an episode tonight but no joy. I think the next will be on Friday if we are lucky.

Doodledog Wed 26-Jun-24 21:58:32

😡🤬🤯

It's maddening. What more is there to be said? Bernie and Gemma should head down to the ITV HQ and give them a piece of their (and our) minds! That'll put them straight.

Dee Dee’s waist gets smaller by the day.

Calendargirl Fri 28-Jun-24 20:14:50

As if Gemma would be in a cell!

And two police officers to arrest her for shoplifting a pair of shoes which she returned.

Don’t think the police would even attend.

(Not condoning shoplifting however).

vegansrock Sat 29-Jun-24 07:00:02

Police time wouldn’t be wasted on a returned pair of shoes.

Dee Dee’s waist gets smaller by the day.

Yes, she’s obviously been dieting and has been very successful.
She’s a very beautiful young woman and her Corrie personality is really nice, but she’s heading for some serious disappointment with Joel.

Aveline Sat 29-Jun-24 13:25:33

Her whole silhouette is reminiscent of ladies in the 19th century in tight corsets. It looks most unnatural somehow. I suspect some 'upholstery' going on!

LovesBach Sun 30-Jun-24 10:34:36

I thought that too - her waist is so tiny now and her bottom is still quite curvaceous. However, that seems to be the current ideal - think 'Kardashian' - if you can bear to. She is a pretty woman, and has done so well to lose a great deal of weight in a relatively short time. Hopefully she feels much better for her efforts.

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 10:40:46

I would love her figure😀

BlueBelle Sun 30-Jun-24 11:02:56

I read that Deedee had ‘found’ running hence her weight loss
I don’t know if it was that dress she was wearing recently but her waist looked extraordinarily small I hope she doesn’t overdo things

BlueBelle Sun 30-Jun-24 11:10:20

“When people compliment weight loss I know they mean no harm, but when it becomes the main focus of your achievements, it's disheartening. Now I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud of myself, but that's linked to being two years veggie, being healthier and my head being a happier place to be."

"Not always of course, I still have my moments, things I'd change. But I've learnt to keep it moving, don't let those negative thoughts get to you

Stillcrazy Mon 01-Jul-24 12:34:20

I think Lauren might reappear now she’s finished in Dr Who…..

Calendargirl Mon 01-Jul-24 13:20:27

Lauren wasn’t in Doctor Who!

It was the other blonde one whose name escapes me, the one whose father Gary Windass killed.

Calendargirl Mon 01-Jul-24 13:23:25

P.S.

Kelly, she was another troubled teenager, who lived with Gary and Maria and worked in the hairdressers for a while.

Can’t remember how she left.
