The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

Fancy Dee Dee confiding in Sarah about her pregnancy. May just as well take out a full page advert in the Weatherfield Gazette.

Calendargirl Tue 19-Nov-24 17:45:37

Max doesn’t look and sound so young and tiny when he’s mouthing off his cocky responses to the police, albeit that’s only corrupt Kit.

Still think David doesn’t seem that bothered, but I suppose after Max in Young Offenders, David himself being an ex con, and Shona’s son being a convicted murderer, it’s keeping it all in the family.

Beechnut Tue 19-Nov-24 18:25:44

And wasn’t Sarah’s ex (Harry’s dad and I believe Max too) dodgy too?

Doodledog Tue 19-Nov-24 21:50:50

The number of people in prison in the UK is something like 380 in 100,000, which I think is 0.38%. Minute, really.

What percentage of the cast of Coronation Street past and present has been in prison?

I realise the percentage in jail is not the same as the percentage of those who have been imprisoned, but I can't find figures for that. I still think that the cobbles has (and has had) way over its share of convicts, whether ultimately found to be innocent or not grin

Aveline Wed 20-Nov-24 11:56:25

Oh come on Doodledog they have to use the prison set as they've invested souch in it. It's obviously multi use for young offenders, women and male criminals.

Calendargirl Wed 20-Nov-24 20:27:14

Why are they rushing Ken off to A&E?

A quick call to the health centre, and Doctor Gaddas will be round in a jiffy, doing a home visit.

lemsip Wed 20-Nov-24 20:35:48

bit of a damp squid in the end then re joel murder.

Does it double as the hospital? grin

That gets more than average use, too - specially the private rooms.

I wonder if the Platts will adopt Frankie? David and Shona were talking about having a baby - there's a ready made one in need of a home now.

Aveline Thu 21-Nov-24 05:51:44

Ooh. Now there's a thought. But they're shortly to be homeless or that that all gone away somehow?

Calendargirl Thu 21-Nov-24 06:51:52

Why on earth would David and Shona think about having a baby?

They must have more than enough to contend with the family they’ve got.

Plus as I’ve said before, the street needs no more infants.

Also the prospect of being homeless doesn’t help.

Calendargirl Thu 21-Nov-24 06:52:33

I hope Lauren gets written out.

Along with Max.

Allsorts Thu 21-Nov-24 07:02:02

I watch it, part of my evening ritual, last night I thought , is there one character in in I actually would like. Im still thinking.

vegansrock Thu 21-Nov-24 07:25:07

Corrie has turned into a bad crime drama

Aveline Thu 21-Nov-24 07:37:25

Lauren has had an absolutely dreadful life. That poor wee girl. Now she's likely to be jailed and lose her baby. It's awful!

I’ve been giving it a bit of thought as well. There are a couple I don’t actively dislike. Roy’s a living Saint, of course, and Dee Dee’s remaining brother whose name I’ve forgotten always seems to want to do the right thing. Chesney perhaps - I don’t think he’s committed a murder yet, has he? hmm Tim’s one of the good guys, and our Craigie.

I’m amazed they weren’t dialling 999 and getting the Corrie ambulance out from where it’s parked just round the corner when Dee Dee was hit in the midriff by a tennis ball. Definitely cue for a miscarriage in Soapland.

vegansrock Thu 21-Nov-24 09:09:27

I like Sally and Tim and Tracey has some good lines. Roy and Evelyn are great.

Clawdy Thu 21-Nov-24 22:33:42

Mason is turning out to be a good lad! Often happens in Corrie.

lemsip Fri 22-Nov-24 20:27:56

oh dear, carla and what's her name! yuk

Calendargirl Fri 22-Nov-24 20:30:17

Surely Ken had his funny turn before Tracy came back?

After Cassie had doctored his pills?

Steve just overacts all the time, he’s worse than Ed Bailey.

As for Carla and Lisa, I still find it hard to see the great maneater that was Carla suddenly fancying another woman.

Doodledog Fri 22-Nov-24 20:52:13

lemsip

Oh, that's been brewing for ages! I'm pleased they've finally seen what everyone else has known was inevitable.

Good luck to them.

Calendargirl Fri 22-Nov-24 21:07:26

As for mardy little Betsy!

Does she ever attend college or still work at the factory?

And Max, laying the law down, demanding that the family take on baby Frankie.

I am sure he will be the one getting up in the night, paying for nappies and formula, and doing all the looking after.

Yeah, right!

Primrose53 Fri 22-Nov-24 22:02:08

All I want for Christmas is for Peter to come home and find Carla and Lisa in bed together!

Charleygirl5 Fri 22-Nov-24 22:27:57

I cannot see Carla and Lisa living together happily ever after.

Does Max work or is he still at school? It costs a lot of money to bring up a baby, would he have a clue?

Doodledog Sat 23-Nov-24 00:26:08

I think Carla and Lisa are a credible couple. Women who discover that they are gay in later life could do with back up in mainstream culture, I think. It’s not particularly uncommon.

Max is very young, and his expectations of his family are probably fairly typical in their unreasonableness 😂.

The whole criminal scenario is not remotely usual, however- or not in my neighbourhood at least. Call me fancy if you will, but the convict-to-resident ratio in my neighbourhood is something like 0 murderers to 100% of neighbours 😂

Calendargirl Sat 23-Nov-24 07:11:16

Does Max work, or is he still at school?

He works as a hairdresser with David, quite expert with little training.

Well, I say he works, but no one seems to be cutting much hair at the moment.

Not David, Max or Maria.
