For those who enjoy an Australian Crime Drama, I've watched the first episode of this new one, it appears quite promising.

I think a lot of different people are missing. I got a bit confused with all the names but it seemed to make sense in the end.

There's sure to be!

I have really enjoyed this too on advice from gransnet. The scenery was just stunning too, as others have said. We were not really told what had happened to Sam either, whether he died or survived. I was hoping he survives, there is a series 2 where they explore her mother's heritage more

also,Damian will be in it as in the end he was just psychic? maybe they will find out what happened to Luke which seemed unconnected to all the other stuff going on?

Oh poor Archie. 🥲🥲

I really enjoyed this and am sorry that it's finished. It certainly seems that there could be another series as there were a number of loose ends. I want to know what happens next.

The scenery was fantastic although much too remote and lonely for me and I found the "vastness" of the wilderness overwhelming ... I wouldn't want to live there.

I'm glad Andie found her "mob" and wanted to learn more about her roots and the indigenous people.

Just finished it - thought it dragged rather in the middle and was then concluded too quickly.

The DH and I watched and enjoyed the series and much admired the beautiful landscape.

Loved it. Had to watch a couple a night & I don't usually get hooked on things.

I would have said nope..but will give it another try. Bay of Fires was excellent imo if you like quirky.

What channel is that on, please?
I see it was filmed in Strahan and Queenstown, I've been to both places and anything with Marta Dusseldorp is worth watching.

Enjoyed this, great scenery, facinating characters and a pretty good plot. Worth binge watching the whole series I think. I have an Aussie friend who had a similar family history to the main character so it was particularly interesting.

Ooh thanks. I'll check out 'Bay of Fires'

I am currently trying to watch the 3rd episode of The Jetty and I’m really struggling. It’s so slow it’s making me fall asleep and I don’t think I’ll be viewing it till the end .

Uschi Sun 28-Jul-24 13:32:02

Thank you for the recommendation TerriBull. I live in Australia but had not heard about this programme. I generally prefer British TV programmes, but having now seen the first episode of High Country I'm hooked!

Susieq62 Sun 28-Jul-24 15:12:25

I am plodding through it as I find the acting arduous but I like the scenery.
I just wish something would actually happen as it is a bit slow.

Sparklefizz Sun 28-Jul-24 17:31:46

I’m enjoying it - lovely scenery and very much better than some other Australian dramas where there are endless dusty toads stretching into the distance and cars pursuing each other! Also the Ghan railway - again rails going for miles over a dry desert - my husband watched it- no idea why- totally boring.

Pittcity Sun 28-Jul-24 18:43:25

High Country is on iPlayer and Bay of Fires is ITVX.

Have binge watched all 8 episodes. I did enjoy, but there’s a lot of unanswered questions!

Iam64 Sun 28-Jul-24 19:11:18

That hopefully means series 2 Poppyred

Mojack26 Sun 28-Jul-24 19:19:07

Agree with you

Aveline Sun 28-Jul-24 19:55:06

I've started 'Bay of Fires'. It's very different but intriguing. Will stick with it. Thanks for the suggestion.
