Anyone else watching?
Thoroughly enjoying this series as I did the first, different this time as Freddy has his own psychological challenges.

Watching and crying. Freddie is so caring with the lads. An absolute joy.

Very heart warming to see the bonding amongst the boys. I think in this series, the experience is benefitting Freddy’s mental health as much as the young lads. The love and support shown to each other is just wonderful to watch.

Heartwarming and heartbreaking. What chance do lads like that have, it shows how with support, love and understanding and a purpose disadvantaged youngsters can be inspired and thrive, Freddie connects with them and I am so impressed how he genuinely cares and brings out the best in them. Ben talking those children in the orphanage was brilliant, who would have thought that!. A brilliant series. Wish al youngsters had some one to believe in them.

Missed the first one last week, so after episode 2, I'm watching the 1st on iplayer. Obviously it was so sad to see Fred before his accident, in hospital and immediately after. But it was also sad to see the 2 lads of Pakistani-heritage left behind because their visas weren't issued, and to hear the history of the Afgani refugee lad.

I'm watching it. Great second series - and as he says himself, not just about the cricket.

I loved the rest 1st series, and this one is even better. I agree that Freddie is getting a lot out of this too.

Yes me watched the first series and loved it so can’t wait to watch the 2nd series

I think Freddie is fantastic. He is such an inspiration for the boys and he is willing to show his own vulnerabilities which is so important, particularly for men and boys.

This is a must watch….does seem to make my eyes water a little, and I’m a tough old bird not known for wet eyes! I love it.

Absolutely brilliant series.
I want to climb into the TV and give them all a big (( hug)).

Im absolutely loving this series. Freddie comes across as such a kind, caring man. I go from laughing to crying all in the space of 60 minutes.

Ditto to all of the above comments.

Excellent !

Absolutely agree with all the comments and am enjoying this second series as much as the first. Sad to hear that cricket is still considered an elite sport. My grandson and granddaughter both attended state primary schools where cricket was encouraged and has given them a good grounding (some may say obsession!) for the game. We need more Freddie Flintoffs in this world.

Loving this. It is heart warming to see how the group is growing together. I thought it was lovely the way they supported Ahmed , joining him on his Ramadan fasting . His story about how his mother sent him from Afghanistan in fear of his life, moved me tremendously. He most definitely had a horrendous journey. The others too have their own tales. A great bunch of lads. Well done to Freddie for keeping faith in them.

Tonight’s episode was so touching in parts, I’m rooting for them all.

Words can't express how much I am enjoying this programme. It makes me cry (a lot) and it makes me smile. Freddy is doing an amazing job with the boys. Well Done Freddy and Well Done to all the boys!!
I just LOVE IT smilesmile

I loved the first series but not started the second one yet. Thanks for reminding me.

YorkLady Wed 28-Aug-24 08:03:39

I agree, it a wonderful program that I don’t want to end.
Just giving a shout out to Kyle Hogg who has done a great job with Freddie. They are fantastic role models for the boys (now young men)

Jaxjacky Wed 28-Aug-24 08:51:59

Yes YorkLady he’s the quiet strength in the background.

I have only just started watching the first series - I had a smile on my face all the way through. What a great idea and just the right man for the job!

The last episode didn’t disappoint, it was lovely to hear how the lads fared after the tour, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the whole series, a worthy use of our licence fee. Good luck to Freddie with rolling out his future plans and to his personal recovery.

Bridie22 Wed 04-Sept-24 09:08:13

Loved this series, what a nice guy, and to carry on after his horrific accident shows the strength and determination of Freddie.

RosiesMaw2 Wed 04-Sept-24 09:16:03

Lovely, heart warming, uplifting and all round excellent programmes.
Realistic too, no “miracles” but life changing in all the best ways for these lads.

Mauriherb Wed 04-Sept-24 10:07:22

Lovely series, well done to Freddie in teaching the lads to believe in themselves.
