Is there something you’ve seen on TV that made you laugh so much that you haven’t forgotten it, even if it’s 20 or more years ago? Post it to give us a laugh, or one of us might be able to find it if you describe it.
This is one of my classics from the Two Ronnies, particularly the second half.

I loved Fawlty Towers. Unbeatable in my opinion. I never get tired of watching repeats. My Dad loved Morecambe and Wise. Just daft clean fun. I don't find many TV programmes funny or witty today. So-called comedy is mainly puerile or disgusting.

Morecambe and Wise. With Andre Previn, all the right notes.

Morecambe and Wise. Breakfast.

So many, too many to list

I used to love Fawlty Towers as well. Especially the episode where he hits the car with a branch to punish it. "Im going to give you a damned good threshing".

I used to laugh so much at Monty Python I felt ill. My parents could never see any humour in it. The Ministry of Silly Walks and the Upper Class Twit of the Year Sketch.

I also found the dark humour in Star Wars very funny. Especially the bits where Darth Vader would kill anyone who displeased him. With a friend in the cinema a woman in the row in front said "Christ I wouldnt wanna be in 'is army" and I fell out of my seat laughing. She looked over and said (in broad Liverpool) "Are you all right down there luv?!

Penelope Keith as Margot Leadbetter in The Good Life is one of my favourite comedy characters.

Ronnie Barker and David Jason in Open All Hours was a classic pairing.

Father Ted episode where they kick Bishop Brennan up the arse or any Father Ted episodes, always got me laughing so much I would have tears tripping me.

The episode of Frasier where Niles sets the ironing board on fire and cavorts around the room driven by an uncontrollable fire extinguisher. Sorry no link to it.

"Rising Damp" with Leonard Rossiter as the ùber seedy landlord Rigsby and Frances de la Tour as Miss Jones who was far too refined for grubby Rigsby.
It wouldn't be revived now - almost devoid of political correctness.

Lots of Harry Enfield clips - ‘Women, know your place!’, ‘I saw you coming,’ and the women vs. men TV ads, the grammar Nazi one, among others.

Ditto a couple,of the Boddington’s ads, the ‘Just one Cornetto’ one, ditto the one with the very smart looking couple, where her face cream turns out to be the froth off a glass of Boddies!

Why don’t they make them like that any more? The vast maj. of ads are now so boring or ludicrous.

All available IIRC on YouTube.

Me too. Especially the episode where a few of his parishioners are outside looking at him through the window and there’s a Hitler style dark moustache smudge on the window which appears to belong on Father Ted, and he waves his arms around. One of them later says to him, ‘ I’m not sure I have time to be a racist Father, what with all the farming’😂
The episode of the caravan holiday is also a classic.

That’s a great episode, it’s Valentine’s Day and there’s a segment on what goes wrong for each of the main characters.

The Detectorists, brilliant series.

Kate1949 Sun 08-Sept-24 10:17:32

Oh yes Margot Leadbetter. Wonderful.

Julie Walters in sketch serving two soups.
Mrs Brown in toilet a accident with wax.
Too many to mention Frank Spencer in some mothers do have them.
