Strictly restarts this Saturday when it will be the pairing up of celebs and pros..... which may even be less cringe-making than usual. grin

I don't know many of this year's celebs, but nothing new to that, and no doubt I shall get hooked in as usual.

Sparklefizz

Very dramatic Paso from Jamies. Fantastic.

But Chris .... So moving and emotional. found myself crying when he walked alone.

Oh, shut up Anton!!! What is he on, for goodness sake?? Grrr!

I cried too. It has a special meaning for me too

I looked at DH and he had a tear in his eye - I have very rarely seen him cry.

No not just you Calendargirl, I thought exactly the same 😂

Sparklefizz Sat 19-Oct-24 19:51:46

Yess! My daughter and I were just saying that. Sarah seems to have borrowed one of Toyah's wigs.

Calendargirl Sat 19-Oct-24 19:47:54

Is it just me, I thought Toyah had returned in the form of Sarah Hadland.

They looked like twins.

Some excellent dancing tonight Sweetpeasue

Sparklefizz

Ridiculously low scores for Punam!! Grrr.

Yes I thought so too.

Goodness that Paso by James was breathtaking.
Then that beautiful waltz by Chris ...I had 'a moment' too.

This is such a great show.

I loved that, and their outfits were perfect, so effective.

rafichagran Sat 19-Oct-24 18:53:03

Fantastic Paso from Jamie.

Anniebach Sat 19-Oct-24 18:05:29

Yes, each to their own

Sparklefizz Sat 19-Oct-24 18:00:45

It's not "very boring" Anniebach for those of us who enjoy it. Each to his/her own ......

Anniebach Sat 19-Oct-24 17:01:09

It will please some, excitement in a very boring show

Sparklefizz Sat 19-Oct-24 16:22:39

I'm sure Wynne and Katya's behaviour last week will affect voting tonight so I'm expecting them to be in the dance off.... not sure who with, though.

See you later.

petra Mon 14-Oct-24 19:10:16

After reading comments on MN I watched the results show again. Wynn was very uncomfortable with Katya.
He had his hands behind his back the whole time.
When it was announced that they were through he didn’t know what to do.
It wasn’t until Katya put her had on his chest that he put his arm round her.
Then he went back to holding his hands behind his back.
So then I looked at the results from last week. His demeanour was entirely different when waiting for the results.

Anniebach Mon 14-Oct-24 17:51:16

Yes many others, I didn’t, and it has added a little excitement to
a boring tv show

Sparklefizz Mon 14-Oct-24 17:34:58

Many many others saw "taking liberties" Anniebach. My daughter immediately texted me about it at the time. In your opinion what would be the reason for his hand to be creeping round?

Anniebach Mon 14-Oct-24 15:39:40

You saw taking liberties, I did not

merlotgran Mon 14-Oct-24 15:24:29

Anniebach

With other men be fearful of placing a hand on their partner’s waist? They certainly must avoid bottoms and thighs

If he’d left his hand just placed on her waist there wouldn’t have been this furore.

It wasn’t a dance move. He was taking liberties

Sara1954 Mon 14-Oct-24 15:21:05

It all seems really silly, and the explanation even sillier.
But as others have said, it’s bound to cost them votes x

ferry23 Mon 14-Oct-24 14:09:30

You've got a lot of egos at play here now that a lot of the pro dancers consider themselves to be celebrities these days.

I'm just very surprised that Katya reacted the way she did when not long before she wrapped her legs around his body. And he was doing nothing more than any other male celeb.

All a bit strange.

DanniRae Mon 14-Oct-24 13:50:07

I agree! Grannynannywanny

Grannynannywanny Mon 14-Oct-24 13:26:30

I think regardless of what actually happened it’s going to cost them votes.

Calendargirl Mon 14-Oct-24 13:16:50

at the end of the day it’s about the dancing not about the relationship between the professional and the dancer, which is for them to sort out

One would think so, but the judges now seem to make a huge thing about the ‘connection’ or ‘rapport’ between the pros and their partners. So if one of them isn’t keen on the others physical gestures…. doesn’t bode well for future weeks.
