Strictly restarts this Saturday when it will be the pairing up of celebs and pros..... which may even be less cringe-making than usual. grin

I don't know many of this year's celebs, but nothing new to that, and no doubt I shall get hooked in as usual.

Birds of a Feather is such a great song

Sparklefizz Sat 12-Oct-24 18:38:58

I thought Sarah and Vito were beautiful together.
(Love her dress!)

Sparklefizz Sat 12-Oct-24 18:20:52

Same here Sara1954

Sara1954 Sat 12-Oct-24 14:54:13

Not bothered if Nick doesn’t come back, not very keen on him.
Very much looking forward to Punam and Sarah.

Grannynannywanny Sat 12-Oct-24 14:31:36

I think if the dance off is between Paul and Nick the judges will save Paul . I’m looking forward to seeing what Punam does tonight.

Sparklefizz Sat 12-Oct-24 13:37:12

There have been mixed updates re whether Nick will dance tonight, but the latest seems to be that he definitely will. Suspect everyone else (perhaps not Paul smile ) will have upped their game so Nick may struggle to compete against them.

I thought Punjam & Gorka were fabulous

I totally agree. It was good to see a 'proper' style of dancing in the Couples Choice. So often it's a mishmash of styles.

TillyTrotter Mon 07-Oct-24 14:32:57

I agree with Grannynannywanny.

I was a bit shall I or not but thought I'd give it a go although didn't actually watch the very first one which wasn't really part of the show. I have to say though I'm totally hooked on the blind contestant Chris McCausland. He's amazing and I don't use the word lightly. How the heck can someone who is blind manage to do that and how does Dianna Buswell train/show/explain to him the dances. If you haven't
watched it just try and see those two. I saw Vito on Masterchef and he was so full of life and so good. I like 'whathisname', Wynn of Go Compare pleasantly surprised. Glad Toyah went as I really didn't think her dancing was much good but if it had been a competition for enthusiasm she'd have won hands down. Yes I'm hooked again but really what's on the 'terrestrial' programmes I've started looking at catchup from years ago. Dr Who from the second run starting 2005 and Ashes to Ashes. :-)

Paul is just not a natural mover/dancer.

annodomini Mon 07-Oct-24 11:31:01

I expect Nick will get a sympathy vote from the viewers. I agree that Paul should be the next to go. He's a fish out of water, though other sports people have managed to adapt, as Sam certainly has.

Grannynannywanny Mon 07-Oct-24 10:22:47

I agree Casdon. I think Paul’s football fans will keep him safe for another week. I was disappointed the judges saved him last night. Toyah wasn’t great but I think she danced better than Paul. She’s been working hard to improve whereas Paul seems to be there to act the clown.

Casdon Mon 07-Oct-24 09:51:49

I’m not banking on Paul going next, although he should. Maybe Pete and Jowita or if Nick’s not fit he will go and there will be no elimination, although results night would be a damp squib then?

Sparklefizz Mon 07-Oct-24 07:57:29

He will be packing his bags next week but I have no idea who will compete with him.

Perhaps Nick, if he is fit enough to come back, as he will be behind all the others with dance practice.

Charleygirl5 Sun 06-Oct-24 22:41:04

I thought Toya was the better dancer. Paul clomped around like a cart horse. He will be packing his bags next week but I have no idea who will compete with him.

Sparklefizz Sun 06-Oct-24 20:01:49

Oh well, that's it for another week. Pity they couldn't have had a double elimination!

GrannyGravy13 Sun 06-Oct-24 11:58:31

I have just found out who went as I am out later and frankly cannot be bothered with the results show.

Clawdy Sun 06-Oct-24 11:46:10

Just didn't think the poster's description of him being "an absolute sweetheart " was particularly appropriate!

Crossstitchfan Sun 06-Oct-24 11:07:12

Clawdy

Paul Merson was arrested for assaulting his wife, not such a sweetheart.

Are you Claudia W??

Harris27 Sun 06-Oct-24 08:57:18

I record it and watch the dancing nit the drivel! Agree it needs a shake up.

lixy Sun 06-Oct-24 08:57:00

Chris, Punam and Sarah got our votes too.

I wonder if anyone will ever explain to Motsi that she has a microphone so really doesn’t need to shout?☺️

Sara1954 Sun 06-Oct-24 08:51:55

Paul probably should go, but footballers have a lot of fans, and he seems to be quite amusing, Toyah is better by a margin, but more irritating, so we’ll see.

Sparklefizz Sun 06-Oct-24 08:16:55

I hope Paul leaves this week. In my opinion he wasn't even fun or entertaining.

Deedaa Sun 06-Oct-24 00:08:44

I imagine the opera singer has worn quite a range of costumes in his career. He seemed much more comfortable as Mrs Doubtfire than some of the men would. Remember Dan Walker dying a hundred deaths in the lobster costume?

Charleygirl5 Sat 05-Oct-24 23:40:34

I am not a fan of Toya but I thought she deserved higher marks. I expect she will be going tomorrow.
