Final now on catchup. Haven’t watched the whole programme but flicked forward to see which one won. Thankfully the house I really hated didn’t win but not too enamoured of the one that did.

Oh no. I’ve got to wait till 28 October to watch the final. That’s cruel.

The houses in episode one were bland and awful. They were much better after that until the one that I really hated. It’s the final tonight so should be on catchup soon. I just hope the loathsome house doesn’t win!

Thanks for this, have just watched episode one - is there really worse to come??!! The only house I liked went out immediately, the winner was so cold. Can’t wait for episode two. Full disclosure - I’m Northern Irish.

I don’t understand why the previous series aren’t on catchup. I assume this series was only shown in Ireland? Thankfully it popped up in the suggestions bit of iplayer. I’ve also found a house decorating programme from 1992 which is interesting.

I must look out for that. I knew someone whose house was in an earlier series. She had come from very humble beginnings and her dream was to have a big house and wealth. She built the house to resemble a small hotel with dramatic curving stairs and balcony. No expense was spared but it lacked a homely vibe and I couldn't imagine living in it.Also the garden was all grass. No plants or shrubs.

The houses in the first episode were very underwhelming but they got better. Apart from one shock. I got used to Laurence after a bit! I always wonder if they give their shoes a good clean when they go round these houses! I preferred it to the Wales home of the year series but the Scottish series will always be my favourite. Probably because I binge watched it during lockdown and it became a sort of comfort blanket.

Ooh, thanks for the heads up! Wish one could see the previous series. LLB’s not my favourite either!

If anyone does watch this series they have chosen one house to go through to the final which is absolutely hideous. Having watched this sort of programme before I have never loathed a house so much. I haven’t watched the final so I’m hoping it doesn’t win. It wouldn’t be out of place on Changing Rooms!

I absolutely love looking into others' homes. smile
I get cross, though, when they dismiss places I like, when they're looking to buy.

It spoils my day!

Just discovered a Northern Ireland version of Scotlands Home of the Year. Just called House of the year. This is the fourth series on BBC iplayer but the other series don’t seem to be available and I’ve never come across them before. Only downside is that it features Laurence Llewelyn Bowen who, as ever, tends to dominate the programme but I can cope with that if it gives me the chance to have a jolly good nose around other peoples houses!
