For someone who has never watched PS and 'hardly watches any TV', you seem to have awfully strong opinions on the subject, theworriedwell. Schofield repeatedly lied about the nature of his relationship with this young man, not to mention lying to his wife and family too. Doodledog has summed up the situation perfectly, in my opinion. And as for the 'people only have the power you give them', well that's a load of claptrap if I ever heard it.
Of course people only have the power you give them. If the young man didn't want whatever advantages professionally or money PS gave him he could have told him to leave him alone.
As I said I have no feelings about PS but I can certainly see some people are motivated by their dislike of PS. What does it matter if he was full of himself, would it be OK if someone they liked did exactly the same thing? As someone else has said with the fuss about the queue jumping how come HW gets far less criticism, they were doing the same thing.
If his wife and daughters are supportive, as has been said on here, all the faux sympathy for them seems very patronising. If people actually gave a damn about how they were feeling they could just be quiet and let the whole thing die. Not much fun in that though is there for the moral crusaders who have never done anything wrong.
I hate witch hunts and they always make me picture the "hunters" knitting round the guillotine. It isn't a pleasant picture so I will leave the frothers to it.
