I believe she is saying she wants to stand for President, which I think will be signing her own death warrant.
She needs to stay alive to keep her husband's memory alive, and she needs to stay safe.

I think that his wife is under scrutiny by the Russian government, now.

I'm not sure I can bear to watch it. Thinking of that brave man makes me want to cry and sometimes to actually cry. I'm not as brave as him.
