Allira* you will not recognise Shaun as John Sweeney. I found it chilling to watch and it is one of the best programmes I have ever seen. Please try to watch it, I know you will change your mind. The second episode was frightening and our police and justice system still needs an overhaul although some of the police force attitudes have improved there is room for improvement.

As soon as I saw who was playing David I thought he’d be a weirdo because he always plays a creepy baddie (apart from Downtown Abbey)

I actually liked both the Delia character and the actress who portrayed her!

I'd got up to the part in episode 4 last night, where the police woman had come round to tell Delia that Sweeny had got 4 life sentences but the judge had recommended he would be considered for parole after 9 years What the heck is wrong with some of our judges ? Such a person would always be highly dangerous to women. I'll pick up tonight but that left me reeling

I think even then they mentioned that it might be earlier because of the time he’d spent in custody before the trial.

Seen this, so gripping & really shocking. Did like it, and tonight is the documentary about the real woman. So looking forward to seeing it

Absolutely a brave lady Bridie22 I don’t usually watch this type of production but it drew my attention because it seems it was taken from Delia Balmer’s own book. However, after what calendargirl has said I’m going to read her book now.
I was glad at the end the psychiatrist stated clearly about her anger. Before last night’s eposide I kept wanting to scream at the police to stop, look, give her a chance, especially when she would turn away. I wonder if the varied professions are really any better at understanding what a victim might be living through.
I didn’t know that there is a documentary tonight I will definitely watch such a brave woman.

Delia tells her own true story tonight in a documentary, she is one brave lady.

I collected the book on which it is based from the library yesterday. About 100 pages in, but of course I know the outcome.

So far, she seems much more ‘normal’ than portrayed on tv, even before all that happened to her.

She was with him a long time, longer than the tv version suggests really.

This was brilliant. Yes, a documentary about it tomorrow.

It was brilliantly done and thoroughly watchable Delia was a very complex character and not very likeable most of the time strange how many men she seemed to attract

He played a squeaky clean, quietly spoken and innocent looking young detective and has now taken on the role of the exact opposite. A scruffy loner who is a drifter and attacks and kills women.

Oh no!

I loved Shaun Evans as Endeavour and don't think I could bear to watch him in a role like that.

The scriptwriters cleverly introduced characters and events that set the tone for the ‘Morse’ series.

It was sympathetically done.

I think Endeavour did the original Morse series proud.
