Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

I thought those houses were two up and one down, but as you say, the rooms are expanding.

I thought last night that Ken was about to propose to that evil so and so. I cannot stand the sight of her.

Dev and Bernie are another unlikely couple, and I cannot stand Dev because he cannot act.

Calendargirl Tue 28-Jan-25 07:25:49

Where will Cassie sleep (at Ken’s)?

I know we frequently discuss the expanding rooms in the Street, but…

Bedroom 1. Ken

Bedroom 2. Amy. (Assume she’s still there?)

Bedroom 3, Tracy, even though they still mention Tommy somewhere in Cheshire.

Bedroom 4. Steve. (Is he still living there?)

So, our Cassie. Where will she lay her weary head? That’s assuming Ken’s 2/3 bedroom house actually has 4 bedrooms.

She’ll need a 5th.

Beginning to think Ken will be proposing before long!

shock

Plus how will all these people manage with, I assume, the one bathroom and toilet?

Doesn’t bear thinking about.

Oh er Davi looks decent he’s been to the barbers much much better Granny must have had the scissors out at last
I hope Cassie gets found out soon her grinning face is doing my head in
Max always calls David David and not Dad so it can be confusing
Leanne is really not doing herself any favours is she? I think
I d have moved a long way away if my partner was carrying on with my sister

A very busy episode. Lots of characters in it. One minute you're complaining about restricted stories with only a few people and now you're complaining about too much going on! Corrie can't win!

Yes, I much prefer multi-character episodes.

I think they record them separately and edit them together, which doesn't matter to the end result, but means that the pay for the actors is limited, so probably impacts on who decides to leave.

It was good not to have Bethany, Daniel and Daisy in it for a change. Or Lauren's miserable face.

Charleygirl5 Mon 27-Jan-25 21:37:54

I thought it was more watchable tonight. Ken's family will be horrified when they discover Cassie is moving in. I hope Adam keeps a watchful eye as he does not believe Cassie.

Sam should get a haircut too.

Calendargirl Mon 27-Jan-25 20:28:52

Well, we’re jumping about tonight.

Kidnap, theft, cancer, engagements, community service, holidays, ….

All in the first half hour,

What is wrong with the wall at Abi and Kev's house? Has it just been replastered and not dried yet or is it some trendy interior design feature?

Is it the bit of wall that used to be the serving hatch?

David's hair looks a lot better.

I am guessing that Cassie had the gift note added to the GHDs so that she covered herself, and if nobody had been there when they arrived she would have kept them?

Devorgilla Mon 27-Jan-25 20:22:33

David has had a haircut. Hooray!

Very few ever do a day's work, and I have no idea who looks after all of the children on the street. Many are too young to go to school by themselves.

I keep forgetting Max is David's son, so no doubt Lauren will move in there.

At least we were spared Leanne's courtroom case.

vegansrock Sat 25-Jan-25 19:54:05

Like David and Max, Daniel never seems to be working either. Journalists on magazines can work remotely these days so I wonder why Bethany has to leave. The way Sarah bangs on you’d think she was a saint herself.

I too have entirely lost the plot with 'David and the Money'. Gail's new husband laundered it for him - how kind, and how swiftly done, without interference from any financial regulatory bodies in Spain. David presumably rocked up with a weekend bag full of 'clean' cash, as a large deposit on the house, or perhaps it had been put in to his bank account.
Either of these scenarios would have prompted many questions from the financial authorities here, as you cannot even move money from one of your own accounts to another during conveyancing without being pounced upon, and I speak from experience, but hey ho - this is soapland.

Grannynannywanny Sat 25-Jan-25 11:39:44

I’ve lost track of what illegal activities David is involved and I feel so disinterested that I can’t be bothered to refresh my memory.

I wish the scriptwriters would give themselves a shake and come up with some decent storylines. I feel like we’re going round in circles with the same old boring stuff.

As for Leeanne burning the passports in the toaster. I know she’s a woman scorned but she’s an intelligent woman and would surely have known there was risk of a serious fire . She was hardly dim enough to think the toaster would just scorch and deface the passports then turn itself off.

Hopefully she’s old enough not to have a one night stand pregnancy with Ryan’s baby 😳

Sarnia Sat 25-Jan-25 11:20:21

Who's the Daddy?
I think it was just Daniel's DNA that was tested. Either he isn't the Daddy which leaves Kit or possibly a 3rd person, so far unknown, and no surprise given Daisy's track record. Or if he is then perhaps Bethany's final words on neither Daniel or Kit being dependable Dads has made Daisy to decide to go it alone. I suppose we will find out some time in the far distant future.

Calendargirl Sat 25-Jan-25 07:17:29

Yes, I thought Joel’s mother was fake.

Expect somehow she’s hoping to get visiting rights and will then whisk him off to some place they have abroad.

Yawn! So fed up with so many baby stories.

Surprised Kit couldn’t go with Daisy to her appointment, he actually had to go in to work. Makes a change from being in the Rovers, the cafe or the Bistro.

Expect he’s covering for Swain nursing Carla and her dialysis machine.

JenniferEccles Fri 24-Jan-25 23:15:11

David’s hair is getting messier and messier isn’t it?
I know the actor is clearly delighted with the transplant, but surely he can see how awful it looks.

What a shame he doesn’t know a barber!

I didn’t swallow Joel’s mother’s speech. She’s up to something.

Charleygirl5 Fri 24-Jan-25 22:15:12

Calendargirl those thoughts were mine also.

David is another person who never does a day's work. I don't understand how anybody pays a mortgage or rent there.

Doodledog Fri 24-Jan-25 21:54:31

I wonder whether the scripts they are given have things like 'I-I-I-I just want to make it all ok' and they have to learn it as it's written😂. The shocked/tearful stammers always sound s-s-s-so fake. See also Dev🥳

Grannynannywanny Fri 24-Jan-25 21:08:11

Joel's mum is another contender for the worst actor - the makes Yasmeen seem ok by comparison.

Your post made me laugh Doodledog. My post a few minutes ago included the word overacting and I deleted it 😆

Grannynannywanny Fri 24-Jan-25 21:04:30

I suppose we can expect Daisy’s pregnancy to be a typical soap one. Full of drama and problems. Angst ridden kit and Daniel vying to be at her hospital bedside. I’m bored with it all at this stage.

What did you all make of Joel’s mother’s tearful performance? Was she being honest or was she faking to try to abduct Frankie?

Doodledog Fri 24-Jan-25 21:00:28

Calendargirl Fri 24-Jan-25 20:59:47

Oops, no need, she’s handed the keys back!

How is Max planning on paying for a place for him, Lauren and Frankie?

He never does a stroke of work, so never earns any money.

Calendargirl Fri 24-Jan-25 20:44:28

If I were Nick, I think I would be changing the lock on my flat.
