Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

grin

Gail’s bedroom at the Platts is now vacant of course.

Aveline Thu 23-Jan-25 20:14:07

She'll move in with the Platts I bet. Otherwise maybe she could move in with that fostering woman who Abi had to stay with for a while.

Charleygirl5 Thu 23-Jan-25 18:38:56

That single hospital room is always available for the Corrie lot.

I was hoping Lauren would go on a permanent holiday. I agree, she is always so miserable. Considering Frankie is so ill, he is flourishing.

How can she afford to pay rent? I would not like a potentially screaming baby sharing my house and waking me during the night.

Clawdy Thu 23-Jan-25 17:33:36

Pity another gangster storyline is starting for the Platts. So fed up of the prison scenes.

Cabowich Thu 23-Jan-25 12:21:26

At least we didn't have ages to wait until Bethany found out Daniel had cheated.

Bet we have a wait to find out the DNA results, though.

Aveline Thu 23-Jan-25 11:29:12

Kit is usually an abbreviation for Christopher.

Calendargirl Thu 23-Jan-25 08:49:24

Think Kit is definitely Christopher Green.

Beechnut Thu 23-Jan-25 08:33:52

I don’t know about Kit on Corrie but I think it might be a nickname for Christopher 🧐

Aveline Thu 23-Jan-25 07:35:17

I wish DeeDee would shut her mouth and stop it hanging open with her tongue protruding.

BlueBelle Thu 23-Jan-25 07:33:15

I’m sure the court is in someone’s front room
Although he’s a bad boy I rather like Kit by the way what’s Kit short for I’m sure we know but I ve forgotten
More drama coming round max and family revving up …..
Deedee looked nice tonight

Calendargirl Thu 23-Jan-25 07:04:15

Let’s hope we get a break now from Lauren.

Fed up with her miserable, mardy face and the hanks of hair hanging down.

Where are she and Frankie meant to be living now she’s free?

Foster home or the Platts? I thought she had dumped Max.

Little Frankie looks very bonny, despite all his ailments.

Aveline Thu 23-Jan-25 06:14:57

Lots of characters on tonight's episode.

vegansrock Thu 23-Jan-25 05:36:32

The court must be right next door to the hospital and prison.

Beechnut Thu 23-Jan-25 00:12:06

Daisy’s question made me laugh. I’ve never been keen on Leanne and tonight I just thought she really is not a nice person.

Doodledog Wed 22-Jan-25 23:57:51

Yes, tonight was better than usual. The brass neck of Daisy! I liked Kirk’s bewilderment, too - ‘so what is the right answer?’ grin

Charleygirl5 Wed 22-Jan-25 23:12:52

It was not realistic for the court case to finish so quickly, but I had visions of it dragging on until Easter, so for once, I was delighted there was little sense of real-time tonight.

It was watchable for once.

Maggiemaybe Wed 22-Jan-25 22:30:49

I actually enjoyed tonight’s episode. The quiz question, the trial verdict. I’m just hoping Lauren and Max will be left in peace now by the awful “in-laws” - surely Frankie’s illness is enough for them to be going on with. And dare I say I was team Kit tonight - dodgy he may be, but I much prefer him to miserable Daniel. I’m hoping Dan and whiny Bethany get back together and head off for that lovely London flat she found them after a 30 minute google. No doubt she’ll have him a new job organised within the week. It’d be a bonus if they could take Sarah Lou with them.

LovesBach Wed 22-Jan-25 22:27:20

How did Lauren get to the court, in order to be standing in the
box in time to hear the verdict, when she was with Frankie at the point that Dee Dee came to tell her the jury was coming back in?
Pleased that Daisy's foot is now completely healed, out of the support boot, and she is now walking normally without a hint of a limp. Miracles do happen.

Aveline Wed 22-Jan-25 21:29:28

I loved Daisy's quiz question!
Amazingly rapid admission to hospital of course.

sodapop Wed 22-Jan-25 21:12:12

Calendargirl grin I agree with you.

Calendargirl Wed 22-Jan-25 20:46:06

“I watched Ed marry the woman I loved”.

Oh Ronnie, awful Aggie?

What a lucky escape you had!

Calendargirl Wed 22-Jan-25 20:28:01

Oops! Daisy’s forgotten her crutch.

Ankle must be better.

LauraNorderr Wed 22-Jan-25 20:20:37

Blimey. Daisy’s quiz question has set the cat among the pigeons. Wow!

Doodledog Wed 22-Jan-25 08:48:29

Aveline

EastEnders, similarly, tends to focus on a few stories/characters at a time. Seems fine to me.

It’s cheaper that way. In the past everyone would be in the Rovers, but now it’s always empty apart from the one or two who have a story going. It limits one-liners or proper interaction.

I don’t think EE is as bad - they have a lot of people in at once, and the storylines are more interesting.

Clawdy Wed 22-Jan-25 08:42:28

They're ticking boxes, aren't they - " Right, knife crime, grooming, rape...let's tick cancer, mental breakdowns, dementia..." So depressing.
