Calandergitl, you are spot on. She has only been discharged from the hospital for 5 minutes, and she would have to be taught how to set it up, which also takes time. A tad unrealistic.

I know nothing about kidney disease or dialysis, thankfully, but surely Carla would have dialysis at hospital for a while before getting a machine at home?

I watched the prison scene on catch up tv last night. What a terrible depressing episode .
All the talk of Mason's funeral, the prison scene, Carla's hospital scenes, Dillon getting drunk out of his scull.
Abbie having flashbacks. It's put me off watching it . Where's the humour gone ?
I think it needs new script writers .

I have never known anybody who has been in prison so I cannot comment.

Guess it varies depending on the person. Some very troubled people feel it's all they know, and where they belong. A friend of ours was in prison for three years and said it was hell. Another friend's young son was in prison and was never the same boy after release, he lived in terror of returning, and developed mental health issues.

I certainly had a client who was very happy in prison and deliberately re offended so as to be sent down again. I also had an autistic client who particularly enjoyed his time in jail. Structure, predicability the time to spend on his own restricted interests and he wasn't bothered about relationships. His poor wife was distraught though.

Something perhaps to think about. I would have meals prepared, a phone in my cell, and heating and lighting, and I would have no worries. I am used to spending time on my own reading, so what is not to like?

I actually think things have changed and a lot of prisons do have individual telephones Perhaps to stop the fights that always seemed to break out when prisoners are queuing to use one

Or making themselves a hostage to fortune to borrow a tiny phone from a dodgy inmate.

Thankfully I have no knowledge or experience of prison cells. But I was surprised to see Rob with a wall phone in his cell. Usually in prison dramas the prisoner is seen making a call in a corridor with a queue of menacing inmates waiting their turn.

Single rooms only in the ward I used to volunteer at. It was a general medical ward. Hospitals vary. Obviously Wetherfield General is very up to date and well staffed.

It is also unrealistic to be in a single room in a hospital unless one is private or has an infection, but I understand why they cannot film in a four-bedder, which would be the usual place for somebody admitted.

I wonder how many viewers see it as normal to have so many friends and relations in jail? I think they could swap the prison set for something more realistic.

What happened to Glenda’s ‘Little Big Shots’ or whatever it was called? The local kids all seemed to be drafted in to it when it started all rip, but nothing said about it now.

I wouldn't miss Mary either. She was ok when Norris was in it, but on her own she is just annoying.

Debbie would be good behind the bar, as would Sally and Tim in a reprise of Annie Walker and Jack, with Cassie as a barmaid.

A playgroup or nursery might bring in some storylines as there are lots of young children, and maybe an adult education centre (although they are being closed down rather than opened). Something akin to the WI or U3A could work, too. The Weatherfield Institute? There could be struggles for leadership, comic incidents with cookery or flower arranging, exam passes and failures, a drama group with a Christmas panto. They could let us see the Red Rec, with maybe a bowls club or something for the older characters.

All low stakes and cheap enough, with more realism than the numerous lawyers and the overworked doctor. Or two hairdressers for a few houses, come to that.

They don’t come up on my FB, probably as I don’t click on anything that might reveal anything, but I agree that once you’ve seen it it’s in your head, which is why I don’t like them.

It’s there ….I don’t look for it it comes to you I don’t know how you can avoid these titbits even if they don’t say exactly, the hint is big enough but often it’s the whole thing including the photo

Anyway we ve lost Gail, Stu and Mason in the last month or so
There are about 10 more names in the mix we ll just have to see if it happens or not One is an actor/ress that I like and seems a ridiculous exit but we will see it might all change
