Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

You must be very proud Lona. I’d imagine that was a very difficult watch for his nearest and dearest . His performance had many of us in tears and we don’t know him in real life.

Agreed, GNW.

It was an emotional performance and the actor is a good-looking lad who I'm sure will have a future ahead of him. You can tell him this bunch of hard-to-please Corrie critics were impressed, Lona grin.

Yes - exactly that!

She didn’t seem like a student paramedic though.

She came across as more ‘in charge’ than either of the men she was with.

But yes, I think a doctor would have informed the friends/ family.

Are Mason’s parents dead, or do they just not bother with their offspring?

vegansrock Tue 07-Jan-25 12:58:46

Would a student paramedic really be the one to announce a death to the friends/ family?
Mason was beginning to be likeable, and hopefully the young actor will get many more opportunities, he played the role really well.

You must feel very proud Lona.

Calendargirl Tue 07-Jan-25 12:17:48

Yes, Grannynannywanny, Asha seems to have stepped up very quickly in her paramedic role!

However, she came across as thoroughly competent, calm, reassuring, even though it was a tragic outcome.

I would have been happy to have her dealing with me or mine, but hopefully not in a knife attack.

Lona

My step grandson played the part of Mason, we were all in tears watching last night’s episode. I had to remind myself that it wasn’t real 🥲😂

Oh my goodness. He’s been such a good actor and deserves accolades. I’ve worked with many troubled young people and was really hoping the scenario would show him achieving a better life.

Charleygirl5 Tue 07-Jan-25 11:27:58

I was beginning to like Mason as he had started to turn his life around but a Corrie death is fairly final.

Tragic situation all round

Grannynannywanny Tue 07-Jan-25 10:37:32

I think they’ll have to show Dylan being punished Aveline to highlight the dangers of carrying a knife. If Dylan hadn’t taken the knife for protection Mason would still be alive.

From what I’ve read about knife crime it seems that some youngsters carry knives as a form of self defence assuming that their peers are also armed. They don’t think through the possible consequences.

Charleygirl5 Tue 07-Jan-25 10:32:37

I agree, for once it was a very good episode. Betsy is a total brat and I would not like to be Lisa her mother.

Calendargirl Tue 07-Jan-25 10:13:55

I think it was good they brought in about the hoax emergency call, highlighting how it can be crucial time lost in getting to a real crisis.

Aveline Tue 07-Jan-25 10:03:33

Poor Dylan. He'll surely not be banged up for this. Not really his fault at all. What a horrible knife it was though. Scary.

Grannynannywanny Tue 07-Jan-25 09:29:03

I can’t see Dylan being able to keep his secret about the knife. Mason’s brothers will tell the police it was Dylan’s knife and he’ll eventually blurt it out to his dad. I think Sean will encourage him to confess to the police. A spell in Daniel’s young offenders unit beckons.

It seems Asha has trained in the Weatherfield University of Fast Track Courses and is now a fully fledged paramedic. Evelyn will have graduated from there in a couple of months with her law degree and ready to join the Street law firm.

Aveline Tue 07-Jan-25 08:59:49

I really like DS Swain. Poor woman has a lot to put up with!

Calendargirl Tue 07-Jan-25 08:41:03

I realise what I don’t like about DS Lisa.

It’s her eyes, her staring eyes!

She never seems to blink.

👀

Calendargirl Tue 07-Jan-25 08:39:29

But lies, more lies, from Dylan.

Surely his fingerprints will be on the knife also?

Why will this be the end for Kit?

Clawdy Tue 07-Jan-25 08:31:00

Excellent episode, so sad. Hope Dylan doesn't get blamed for the murder.

Sarnia Tue 07-Jan-25 08:06:54

Well, I didn't expect that. I was starting to warm towards Mason. He clearly grew up in a rough family if his 2 delightful brothers are anything to go by and showed signs of becoming a serial offender himself but then he tried hard to turn his life around. I admired him for that.
Will Dylan tell the absolute truth that the knife was there because he took it there or will he keep quiet and always have that knowledge on his conscience?
With Betsy, who knows she was horrible to Mason in his final hours, start to treat others a bit better and will this be the beginning of the end for Kit?

Grannynannywanny Mon 06-Jan-25 22:21:13

Such a heart wrenching episode. It was very well done.

sodapop Mon 06-Jan-25 22:06:45

Excellent episode, well acted by all. I found Tim's speech very touching as well. Brings home a little of the reality of knife crime.

nanaK54 Mon 06-Jan-25 21:45:36

Goodness - that was so well done and so, so sad

Aveline Mon 06-Jan-25 21:15:09

Such a good episode. Really brought home the whole knife crime impact on so many different people. Well written, directed and acted. Well done Corrie.
